Variants and Feature Levels
The Sealion 7 comes in two variants: Premium and Performance. Unusually, both get the same core feature list, including the head-up display, ADAS and 11 airbags. The Performance mainly differs in its all-wheel-drive powertrain, while visually it adds larger 20-inch wheels and coloured brake calipers.
BYD Sealion 7 Exterior Features
The Sealion 7 has a sleek, coupe-like SUV design with flush pop-out door handles. It gets LED headlamps with high beam assist, full-width LED tail lamps and a panoramic glass roof with a sunshade. In addition, a hands-free powered tailgate, frameless rain-sensing wipers and heated, auto-folding ORVMs with memory come standard. Moreover, double-glazed glass on the windscreen and front doors keeps the cabin quiet.
Interior and Comfort Features
Inside, the Sealion 7 offers leather seats with plenty of power adjustment. The driver seat gets 8-way power adjustment, 4-way lumbar support, a powered leg rest and memory, while the passenger seat offers 6-way adjustment. Both front seats are ventilated. In addition, dual-zone climate control with a heat pump, rear AC vents and a PM2.5 filter keep everyone comfortable.
BYD Sealion 7 Infotainment Features
The 15.6-inch touchscreen rotates between landscape and portrait modes. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with an English voice assistant and connected car tech. Meanwhile, a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a head-up display show key driving data. A 12-speaker Dynaudio system and a 50 W wireless charger complete the tech package.
Convenience Features
The Sealion 7 gets keyless entry and start, plus an NFC card key for tap-to-unlock access. In addition, V2L lets you power external devices from the battery. A 58-litre front trunk adds handy storage, and USB-A and USB-C ports are available in both rows. Other features include auto hold, an auto-dimming IRVM and one-touch windows with anti-trap.
BYD Sealion 7 Safety and ADAS Features
Every Sealion 7 gets 11 airbags, including a far-side driver airbag. It also gets a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX mounts. Meanwhile, the Level 2 ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure prevention, blind spot detection and front and rear cross traffic braking. In addition, driver attention warning and door open warning add extra protection.
Before You Buy the Sealion 7
Keep a few points in mind. First, most controls, including AC, sit inside the touchscreen, which takes time to get used to.
