The Seal is a low, sleek sedan with a long 2,920 mm wheelbase. In addition to the 400-litre boot, it gets a 53-litre front trunk for charging cables or small bags. However, its 150 mm ground clearance needs care over large speed breakers.
BYD Seal Battery and Range Specifications
Both Seal batteries use BYD’s Blade LFP cells. The Dynamic’s 61.44 kWh pack claims 510 km, while the Premium’s 82.56 kWh pack claims the longest range at 650 km. The Performance shares the larger battery but claims 580 km, since its second motor uses more energy. In real-world driving, expect roughly 400 to 430 km from the Dynamic and 500 to 540 km from the Premium.
BYD Seal Motor and Performance
The Dynamic and Premium use a single rear motor, giving them a sporty, rear-wheel-drive feel. Meanwhile, the Performance adds a front motor for all-wheel drive, producing a combined 523 bhp and 670 Nm. As a result, it reaches 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, faster than many luxury sports cars. All versions offer Eco, Normal, Sport and Snow drive modes, plus two regenerative braking levels.
BYD Seal Charging Specifications
The 82.56 kWh battery supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW, while the Dynamic’s smaller battery charges at a lower peak. At home, a 7 kW AC wall box fully charges the larger battery in about 12 hours. In addition, the Seal offers vehicle-to-load (V2L), letting you power external devices.
BYD Seal Suspension, Tyres and Brakes
The Seal uses a double wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear setup, which improves handling and ride comfort. The Premium and Performance ride on 235/45 R19 tyres, while the Dynamic gets 18-inch wheels. In addition, disc brakes come on all four wheels.
BYD Seal Warranty
