The 3.7 kWh battery pack now gets an increased range of 160 km (IDC certified) from 115 km offered by a 2.9 kWh battery pack.
Ather Energy has recently given the 450S electric scooter a significant boost, and it’s all about the range. The updated vehicle now has a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack, increasing its claimed IDC range to 161 km on a single charge.
The New Update
The battery is the major upgrade, and the 450S, the previous model, was offered with a 2.9 kWh unit that goes up to 115 km of range. With its new 3.7 kWh battery, Ather aims to alleviate range anxiety, particularly among everyday urban riders who seek increased mileage without compromising performance.
Performance & Features
Despite the larger battery, the EV uses the same motor configuration. You still get 5.4 kW of peak power and a top speed of 90 kph. It comes with three riding modes: SmartEco, Eco, and Sport, designed to accommodate a variety of riding styles.
The package still includes the 7-inch DeepView display, turn-by-turn navigation, park assist, and auto cut-off indicators. The display operates on AtherStack 6, their most recent software platform. According to Ather, the 450S can be charged from 0 to 80% in around 6 hours and 36 minutes using a normal charger. In contrast to the higher-end 450X model, this type lacks fast charging.
Price and Availability
The new 450S now comes with a 3.7 kWh battery pack option, and the price range starts from ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It still stays as Ather’s affordable model, placed below the 450X on the list. There is no longer a 2.9 kWh model available.
With this improvement, Ather makes a compelling case for consumers seeking a practical electric scooter with a long range and reliable performance. In the affordable EV segment, the 450S now competes more effectively with the Ola S1 Air and the TVS iQube.
