Skoda took wraps off the all-new Peaq – its flagship electric SUV globally. Previewed by the Vision 7S concept, the Skoda Peaq is a full-size, three-row electric SUV, which will rival premium family-focused EVs such as the Kia EV9 and the MG M9. Measuring nearly 4.9 metres in length, the Peaq is also one of the longest, and largest production electric SUVs built by the Czech car manufacturer.
Claimed Range, And Performance
The Skoda Peaq EV will be available in three variants: 60, 90, and 90x. The 60 will come equipped with a 63 kWh battery pack, and the 90, and 90x will get a 91 kWh one.
The 60, which is the lower-spec variant, will only get a RWD (rear-wheel-drive) powertrain, where its electric motor puts out 152 kW (204 hp). The claimed range gere is around 459 km so expect the real-world number to be somewhere around 400 km.
For the 90, the powertrain is similar to the 60, where it gets a single motor RWD, but its electric motor puts out 216 kW (286 hp). Here the claimed range is the highest, which is around 647 km, so 600 km of usable real-world range from a 7-seater electric SUV, quite impressive!
The 90x is where things start getting interesting. This one is equipped with the same 91 kWh battery pack as the 90 variant, but gets a dual-motor AWD powertrain. The electric motors put out 223 kW (299 hp) of peak power, and the claimed range here is 613 km.
Skoda Peaq’s AWD System
Most of you might think that the Skoda Peaq’s AWD powertrain makes it a good offroader. It does, but that’s not the best use case for it. Unlike ICE cars, electric cars generally have all of their torque available instantly, so it’s very easy, and likely to lose traction in a RWD setup. What the AWD here does is, it distributes torque evenly across four wheels, reducing the loss of traction in tricky situations. And, of course, this is what helps the car off the road, in wet as well as gravel.
Skoda Peaq Features
Inside, the Peaq gets a three-row cabin capable of seating up to seven occupants. Skoda also claimed it to have the largest panoramic roof ever fitted to one of its vehicles.

Could It Come To India?
The biggest question for Indian buyers is whether the Skoda Peaq will make it here or not. Skoda Auto India has already confirmed that the SUV is under evaluation for our domestic market, although no launch timeline has been announced yet. If approved, it would become the brand’s most expensive offering to be launched in India yet.
