2026 Tata Sierra EV vs Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara | Which Is Better?

Tata Sierra EV vs Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

The Indian mid-sized electric SUV market is growing significantly, featuring high-performance and well-packaged EV solutions. The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is such an exemplar, which made its official debut this year, poised to master performance and tech integrations at an accessible segment entry point. Not to be outdone, Tata Motors has stepped up the game with the launch of the Sierra EV.

Wondering how they stack up against each other in terms of design, performance, and features? Here’s a comparison between the 2026 Tata Sierra EV and the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:

Road Presence | Which Looks Better In Terms Of Design?

The visual appeal of these two vehicles is distinct, making them unique in the segment:

The Tata Sierra EV Design: The vehicle is built around a revived 90s design with a touch of contemporary elements to make the 2026 iteration unique in every sense. With the signature wrap-around glass layout, connected LED lighting bar setup in front and rear, and vertically integrated fog lights, the vehicle looks far more modern in design. The upright silhouette gives the Sierra EV a much more SUV-like stance and butch road presence, true to the concept design.

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Design: Found exclusively in the Nexa lineup of premium vehicles, the e-Vitara comes with design elements that make it look upmarket. Featuring the NEXtre Matrix 3-point and ‘Y’-shaped headlight setting, rugged body cladding, and alloy wheels with aerodynamic garnishes, the e-Vitara looks futuristic and top-class in its segment.

In-Cabin Tech And Comfort Elements | Which Is Better?

The 2026 Sierra EV, and the 2026 e-Vitara come with multiple elements with premium appeal to enhance cabin comfort and user experience. This includes the following features:

The Tata Sierra EV Features:

  • Triple-Screen Dashboard Layout (10.25-inch instrument console and 12.5-inch infotainment screens)
  • Ventilated Driver And Co-Driver Seats
  • A Panoramic Sunroof
  • 12-Speaker Sound System
  • Boss Mode Seat Function

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Features:

  • Dual-Screen Integrated Dashboard Layout.
  • Ventilated Seats And 10-Way Adjustable Seat.
  • Single-Pane Sunroof With Fixed Glass.
  • Twin Deck Centre Console.
  • Infinity Sound System With Subwoofer And Amplifier.

Which is better in terms of comfort? The Tata Sierra EV comes with a much more lounge-styled cabin design with premium features and sufficient space for occupant comfort. Meanwhile, the Maruti e-Vitara counters with a much cleaner and ergonomic space featuring black and tan colour elements for appeal. In terms of cabin design, both vehicles have a contemporary appeal and feel.

Powertrain | Range And Power | Which One Can Do Off-Roading?

The new 2026 Tata Sierra EV and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara both feature lithium ferrosphosphate battery chemistry but target different performance dynamics:

The 2026 Tata Sierra EV:

Battery Capacity: Comes in 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery variants.

Driving Range: Offers a maximum 665 km of certified driving range.

Drivetrain: Unlike the e-Viatara, the Sierra EV comes with a dual-motor setup and an all-wheel drive system capable of tackling off-road conditions, also supported by multi-drive modes.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara:

Battery Capacity: Is offered in 41 kWh and 61 kWh battery capacity variants (Delta 41 kWh, Zeta 61 kWh and Alfa 61 kWh).

Range Output: The Delta variant offers a 440 km range on a fully charged battery, while the Zeta and Alfa variants offer a maximum driving range of 543 km on a fully charged battery.

Drivetrain: Is equipped with a 2-wheel drive setup, which can produce 128 kW of maximum power (Only with Zeta and Alfa Variants) (Delta produces 105.8 kW of power) and 193 Nm of torque (across all variants).

Pricing Strategy | Which Is More Affordable?

Vehicles Pricing (ex-showroom)
Tata Sierra EV 2026 From Rs 18.79 Lakh to Rs 25.99 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara 2026From 15.99 Lakh To 19.79 Lakh

Note: Under the BaaS scheme, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Delta variant comes at Rs 10.99 Lakh in addition to a battery rental or EMI at Rs 3.99 / km.

The Verdict | Which To Finally Choose In 2026?

Choose The Tata Sierra EV: If you need an urban-centric and off-road potential SUV with unmatched performance, a high driving range and a lounge-like cabin. If you are chasing after nostalgia that resonates closely with the 90s Sierra theme without losing important modern design characteristics, the Tata Sierra EV 2026 is the right solution for you.

Choose The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: If you are in search of a sensible daily usage and urban-centric vehicle that does not lack in features and offers adequate comfort. The eVitara is supported by BaaS pricing, making the vehicle much more affordable.

Overall, both SUVs come with their own unique attributes which make them stand out in their segments. But do head out to test drive these upmarket solutions to experience their true performance capacities and comfort. With premium features and a high-performance EV powertrain, these are currently top-notch electric solutions available as of 2026.
