TVS Motor Company hosted a private event in Bengaluru on March 22, where it showcased three custom-built versions of its TVS X electric scooter. These were developed in collaboration with fashion designer Manoviraj Khosla and later auctioned, with the proceeds going to A Hundred Hands, a non-profit working with artisan communities in Karnataka. Called the TVS X Collectors’ Soirée, the event brought together collectors, designers, and people from the craft space. Instead of a usual product launch, the focus here was more on design, culture, and collaboration.

The Collectors’ Soirée is planned as the first in a series of similar events. TVS says the idea is to use the TVS X as a base to explore regional art and cultural influences across India, starting with Karnataka. Going forward, each edition is expected to take cues from a different region, using the scooter as a way to reflect local stories and design styles.

Each of the three scooters on display reflected a distinct aspect of Karnataka’s cultural identity. The designs were inspired by various elements, such as the ruins of Hampi, the lacquerware craft of Channapatna, and the style associated with Mysuru’s royal past. These influences were blended into a contemporary aesthetic, preserving the original character while giving it a modern touch. In addition to the scooters, Khosla created a set of custom pieces for guests, ensuring that everything aligned with the event’s theme.
