Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled its first electric motorcycle model, the Honda WN7, on November 4, 2025, during the EICMA 2025 event held in Milan, Italy. The brand took a huge step forward in the electric vehicles sector, as the company has decided to speed up its motorcycle electrification plan. Honda’s new electric naked bike introduces a new “FUN” category for electric motorcycles, where riders could expect thrilling, quiet, and eco-friendly riding under the company’s ongoing electric-motorcycle brand direction.
Development Concept
The WN7 comes under the concept of “Be the Wind.” Honda aims to let the riders feel the uniqueness of an electric vehicle, the freedom of gliding noiselessly. Riders will feel a closer connection to nature and the street, free from the noise produced by traditional engines.
Design Highlights
- The designers mainly focused on making the areas riders touch smooth and comfortable.
- A light bar, distinctive in its horizontal orientation across the front, highlights the EV’s character of futurism.
- The electric motorcycle introduces a different colour scheme: a black body with the gold accent parts, which is a symbol of Honda’s transition to the EV era.
Frameless Chassis
Honda has introduced a frameless design in which the aluminium battery case, positioned in the centre, functions as a structural part of the main frame. The design not just cuts down on weight but also improves layout flexibility and better mass centralisation, which translates to more agile handling and balanced manoeuvrability.
Motor & Battery
The Honda WN7 uses a compact, water-cooled motor with a built-in inverter. It produces 50 kW of power and 100 Nm of torque, which is similar to a 600cc bike in power and a 1000cc bike in torque. The 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery of the bike is capable of taking in CCS2 fast charging and Type 2 standard charging, so that it can reach 80% in 30 minutes or a full charge in about 2.4 hours.
| Specification | Value |
| Motor Output | 50 kW |
| Torque | 100 Nm |
| Battery Capacity | 9.3 kWh |
| Fast Charging Time | 20 % → 80 % in 30 min |
| Standard Charging | 0 → 100 % in 2.4 h |
| Range (WMTC) | ~140 km |
Production & Rollout
The Honda WN7 will be produced at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory, the world hub for the motorcycle production of Honda. The model will roll out in phases, increasingly into international markets, with the electric motorcycle uptake being in that transition very fast.
Conclusion
The Honda WN7 represents a significant stepping stone toward the company’s electric mobility dream. The bike is practical for everyday use, while still offering high performance with its 50 kW motor, 100 Nm torque, lightweight frameless design, and fast charging. The new WN7 defines a new class of electric motorcycles with the perfect touch of innovation and adds to Honda’s “Be the Wind” philosophy, and is ready to take on the world’s riders.
