Ultraviolette has launched a new base variant of the X-47 Crossover – its electric adventure motorcycle in India. The new base variant is available at an introductory price of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in only three colour schemes: Shadow Cosmic Black (included in base price), Airstrike Stellar White (Rs 6,500), and Laser Turbo Red (Rs 7,500). These colour prices are over and above the base ex-showroom price.

With this new variant, the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover now has six variants in its lineup, and here’s a table with the latest prices of all its variants:

While the bike looks exactly similar to the naked eye, what the base variant misses out is the radar tech. Ultraviolette Automotive’s Hypersense radar technology has features such as blind-spot detection, lane-change assist, overtake alert, and rear collision alert.

Also, the base X-47 Crossover is cheaper by Rs 15,000 than the Original variant, so buyers on a budget have some relief. In this variant, the absence of the Hypersense radar system is the only difference from the Original variant.

Apart from this, the bike is mechanically unchanged and still comes with the 7.1 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 211 km. It still has the same performance from its electric motor, which produces a peak power of 27 kW and a peak torque of 550 Nm. The claimed top speed is still 145 kmph, and it accelerates from 0-60 kmph in just 2.8 seconds.

The new base variant also gets all the necessary safety features, like a dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), hill-hold control and park assist as standard. The bike also has the same three riding modes as the Original variant: Glide, Combat and Ballistic, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, which are also standard.

What We Think

The launch of this base Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover variant feels like a practical move from the brand. While premium variants still remain expensive for many buyers, lowering the entry point to the lineup could help attract more riders into the ecosystem. And, we don’t think many of the riders will miss the radar tech; instead, you can opt in for the ‘Boost Charger’ or the ‘Flexible Armour Kit’ (costs around Rs 17,000), which will make your bike a lot more practical.
