TVS Motor Company has been teasing its new electric maxi-scooter, the M1-S, ahead of its official global unveiling. This scooter was developed collaboratively by TVS and ION Mobility, a Singapore-based electric mobility startup in which TVS is a strategic investor. The teaser was released in October 2025, just before its full launch at the EICMA 2025 show. Primarily aimed at international markets, where the vehicle has been designed for, a launch in India may follow later. This also forms part of TVS’s broader strategy to expand its electric portfolio in the global premium and maxi-scooter segments.
Global Market Focus
The TVS M1-S (initially called the ION M1-S) has been designed especially for the international market, and it draws heavily on the engineering expertise at TVS across product development and operations. The design has a sporty touch with a palpable athletic stance featuring an aggressive and aerodynamic facade at the front, with twin LED headlamps for the eyeballs and a flat floorboard.
Battery and Performance
The TVS M1-S electric maxi-scooter has a battery pack of 4.3kWh coupled to an electric motor producing 12.5 kW and achieving a power of 16.76 bhp and a torque peak of 45 N · m. Also, it reflects good performance metrics, focusing strongly on urban and highway use:
