Car brands love to play with nostalgia. Citroen did exactly that at the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show. They pulled the covers off the eC3 Retro Edition. This special version receives a heavy dose of classic styling and shows how a few smart cosmetic tweaks can completely change the personality of a car. It brings a fun, old-school flavour to a modern battery-powered vehicle.
Exterior Changes and Colours
You notice the biggest changes on the exterior of this new electric Citroen. It is painted in a bright Mint Green shade. To push the classic vibe further, they added retro steel wheels fitted with shiny chrome hub caps. The tyres even have white sidewalls to complete the old-school look. You will also spot a white roof and contrast-coloured skid plates. The modern bits are still there, though. The car keeps its familiar X-shaped LED daytime running lights and C-shaped taillights. It also features body-coloured door handles, matching side mirrors, and a rear wiper.
A Brighter Cabin
Moving inside, the retro theme continues. Citroen gave the dashboard a special multicolour finish that brightens up the whole cabin. The seats use a blend of the new multicolour pattern mixed with black sections. Citroen also added ambient lighting in the footwells and across the dashboard to make the interior feel a bit more special at night. Everything else inside stays familiar. You still get the large touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The three-spoke steering wheel and the simple gear toggle selector remain in place.
Battery and Motor Details
While the car looks very different, the parts underneath the metal have not changed. Citroen has not released the exact official numbers for the Indonesian market yet. However, we expect this special edition to use the exact same setup as the standard model. That means it relies on a 29.2 kWh battery pack. This battery powers a single electric motor that pushes out 41 kW (56 hp) and 143 Nm of torque. In India, this setup gives the car a claimed driving range of 320 km on a single charge.
