Oben Electric recently launched the Rorr Evo, a sporty electric commuter bike in India. It’s priced at Rs 1,24,999 (ex-showroom), and for the first 10,000 customers, the introductory price is Rs 99,999. The bookings of the bike have started as well, with the amount being Rs 777 and deliveries scheduled to begin this June. If you are looking to buy the Oben Rorr Evo and want to know what features it gets, here’s an overview of the top ones:
Chain Drive
Unlike most other electric motorcycles, which are belt-driven, the Rorr Evo uses a chain drive. It connects the rear wheel to the mid-mounted electric motor that produces 9kW of peak power, and 250Nm of peak torque.
MHX technology
The MHX, or the ‘Maximum Heat Exchange’, is Oben Electric’s proprietary tech which dissipates heat generated in the battery better when riding enthusiastically or for longer durations.
TFT Console
The 5-inch TFT display is well laid-out and easy-to-read. It also gets a bunch of connected features like call and SMS alerts, music display, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, and even turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also shows ride analytics via the Oben app.
UBA tech
The UBA, or ‘Unified Braking Assist’, is a tech that distributes the brake pressure evenly between both wheels. This technology comes in handy during hard braking situations and prevents accidental wheel lockups.
Storage Spaces
The Oben Rorr Evo has 10 litres of combined storage capacity. It has a 4-litre tank pod and 6 litres of underseat storage space. The tank pad even has two USB ports to charge your devices, and the underseat storage’s main utility is for charger storage.
Safety Features
The bike also comes with a DAS (Driver Assistance System) that has a notification light in the console which shows the rider if the power is engaged or not. Apart from this, there’s also a fall alert, which notifies your emergency contact of your situation and also cuts off the bike’s power supply.
Riding Modes
The new Oben Rorr Evo comes with four riding modes: Eco, City, Havoc, and the new SmartIQ. All of these modes modulate the bike’s throttle response and acceleration. The new riding mode is AI-enabled and optimises the bike’s performance in real-time, increasing range by up to 15% when being ridden. Moreover, the bike has a reverse mode to get out of tight parking spots and reverse your bike when parked on inclines.
We think the Rorr Evo is one of the best-looking Oben Electric bikes to ever be made. It is quite feature-packed and offers immense value for the price tag it carries. Even if the introductory offer ends, it’s still quite affordable at Rs 1.25 lakh.
