Maruti Suzuki YMC 7-Seater MPV Launch Next Year: All Details Here

Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its product portfolio with a family-orientated 3-row MPV, currently running under the project nameplate YMC. The heavily camouflaged Maruti Suzuki YMC MPV, spotted undergoing tests, is poised to suit the Indian operating requirements; the up-to-spec launch model is also expected to reach dealerships in the early part of 2027. 

The Maruti Suzuki YMC: What The Spy Shots Reveal? 

The recently found spy shots, although seen heavily camouflaged, reveal certain design attributes, including the in-cabin volume and EV-orientated aesthetics, which make it appealing: 

The Fascia: The front has a closed-off radiator design; it is an indication of an EV-specific model, replacing the traditionally equipped radiator grille section found in ICE vehicles. Nevertheless, there are cooling vents in the lower bumper section for aerodynamic efficiency and thermal management of the floor-mounted battery. The fascia also boasts sculpted bumper and well-contoured elements.

The Side Profile: The Maruti Suzuki MPV is seen to feature a boxy silhouette, with a taller and more appealing stance, featuring an aerodynamic alloy wheel setup; it is similar to the ones on the Grand Vitara. The long wheelbase and short overhangs of the vehicle maximise cabin footprint too. The YMC features regular door handles, unlike the flush door handles seen on newer cars in India.

The Rear Section: From recent spy shots, the rear section seems to feature connected tail lights; however, with the heavy camouflage, the setup is not entirely visible. That said, what is sure to feature is a bulky bumper design and a taller tail section with a higher boot loading lip.  Also, the rear glass area seems decently large, and the rear bumper gets reflector elements.

The Maruti Suzuki YMC MPV is scheduled to hit the Indian market by late 2026 or early 2027. When launched in India, the YMC project from Maruti Suzuki will rival the Kia Carens Clavis, VinFast MPVs and BYD eMAX 7, among others. Toyota is also expected to launch a rebadged version of the YMC MPV in India as part of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership.
