Performance of the XEV 9S 79 kWh
The larger battery comes with a stronger 210 kW (282 bhp) rear motor. Torque stays at 380 Nm, but the extra power makes a clear difference with seven people on board. For example, it reaches 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, compared with 7.7 seconds for the 59 kWh version. Also, drivers can choose between Range, Everyday, Race and Snow modes, along with single-pedal driving.
Range and Charging Details
With a claimed 679 km, the Pack One Above 79 handles long family trips with fewer charging stops. On a 180 kW DC fast charger, the battery charges from 20 to 80% in about 20 minutes. At home, an 11.2 kW wall box takes about 8 hours for a full charge, while a 7.2 kW unit takes around 11.7 hours. In addition, the battery has a lifetime warranty for the first private owner.
Lower On-Road Cost in Karnataka
At Rs 22.65 lakh, this version stays below Rs 25 lakh, so Karnataka charges only 5% registration. In comparison, the Pack Two Above 70 costs Rs 25.05 lakh and pays 10%. As a result, the Pack One Above 79 is about Rs 3.9 lakh cheaper on-road in Bengaluru, despite offering 79 km more claimed range.
Features Included
The Pack One Above 79 shares its features with the 59 kWh version. It includes Level 2 ADAS with one radar and one camera, OTA updates and a one-touch driver window. Practicality remains strong, with seven seats, a 500-litre boot and a 150-litre frunk. For the complete list, see the XEV 9S features page.
What the Pack Two Above 79 Adds
The Pack Two Above 79 costs Rs 3.3 lakh more ex-showroom. For that, it adds a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver seat and 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio. However, range and performance stay the same. Therefore, the Pack One Above 79 suits buyers who prioritise range and value, while the Pack Two Above 79 suits those who want more comfort.
