With up to 641 km of claimed range, the RWD goes further on a charge than any other Macan Electric. On a 270 kW charger, a 10-minute stop adds about 261 km of range, the most in the line-up. As a result, even a Bengaluru to Hyderabad trip of about 570 km needs at most one short top-up. At home, an 11 kW charger refills it overnight.
Why Choose Rear-Wheel Drive
The RWD uses a single motor at the back, making it the lightest Macan Electric. Lower weight helps it deliver the best range and a playful, balanced feel through corners. For most Indian city and highway driving, rear-wheel drive offers plenty of grip. However, buyers who often drive in heavy rain or on hill roads may prefer the all-wheel-drive 4S.
Porsche Macan Electric RWD Features
Despite being the base model, the RWD comes well equipped. Inside, a curved 12.6-inch cluster and a 10.9-inch touchscreen run Porsche’s Android-based system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front seats are heated and electrically adjustable. Outside, four-point LED DRLs, a full-width 3D light bar and frameless doors come standard. For safety, it gets a front centre airbag, emergency braking and Lane Keeping Assist.
What the RWD Misses
Compared with pricier versions, the RWD skips all-wheel drive and rides on steel springs instead of air suspension. It also misses rear-axle steering, Matrix LED headlights, the AR head-up display and Bose sound. Most of these are available as options, but they add up quickly. Therefore, configure your car carefully.
