Citroen India has launched the 2026 eC3X, with prices starting at Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The new electric hatchback is also offered with a BaaS model, where the upfront cost to be paid starts from Rs 6.89 lakh, which is significantly lower than the ex-showroom pricing. In the BaaS scheme, the battery EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) is calculated at Rs 2.26 per km.
The 2026 eC3X is now offered in three variants: Live, Live(0) and Shine, with different feature sets. It is available in six colour schemes: Polar White, Steel Grey, Cosmo Blue, Perla Nera Black, Garnet Red, and Deep Forest Green.
More Features Than Before
The new Citroen eC3X gets a full-LED lighting setup, which includes LED projector headlamps and LED fog lamps. It also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The premium JBL sound system is offered as an accessory, though. Other additions include an auto-dimming IRVM, electronically adjustable ORVM, and a rear USB Type-C charging port.
No Changes Under The Skin
Mechanically, the eC3X remains unchanged. The French electric car comes with only one battery pack – the same 29.2 kWh units as before. It is connected to the front-mounted electric motor which puts out 41.92 kW (56 bhp) of peak power and 143 Nm of peak torque. As per the brand, the claimed driving range is 325 km (5 km more than the previous eC3) on a single charge. It also comes with two driving modes: Eco and Standard, where it can reach a claimed top speed of 107 kmph.
Safety Package Updated
The 2026 eC3X also gets an updated safety package with features like six airbags (on the top-spec variant), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Other features in its suite include reverse parking sensors, speed-sensitive auto door locks, seat belt reminders for all seats, a high-speed alert system and an engine immobiliser too.
Our Opinion
With the 2026 eC3X, Citroen has addressed one of the biggest criticisms of its entry-level EV — the lack of features. While the battery, motor and claimed range remain unchanged, the addition of keyless entry, LED lighting and other features should make the eC3X a more compelling alternative for its rivals like the Tata Punch EV, the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, and even the Tata Tiago EV. For a similar price, you can also get the MG Windsor EV with a BaaS scheme, which has a lot more range, performance, and space.
