Why The Price Increase?

While the brand has not officially stated the reason behind this latest price hike, the increase in raw material costs and manufacturing expenses could be the primary factors. Last month, Ultraviolette – the Indian electric bike manufacturer – also increased prices for the F77 series, due to the same reason.
This increase also comes at a time when Ather is gearing up to introduce a more affordable electric scooter in India – the Ather EL-01 – based budget scooter in the coming months. So, this could be the brand freeing up the price bracket around the Rs 1 lakh mark for that product.
Our Take
Apart from the price revision, Ather has not announced any changes to the Rizta’s feature list, battery packs or performance. It is still offered with 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh battery packs. The latest price hike may not drastically affect the Rizta buyer’s decision, but it does make it a little less of a value-for-money proposition. Even after this increase, the Rizta still remains one of the most feature-rich and practical electric scooters currently available in India.
