Tata Motors has rolled out the 2026 Tata Punch EV with a set of practical upgrades designed to make electric driving more approachable. Along with a larger battery and quicker charging, Tata has added a lifetime battery warranty and introduced a battery subscription option, all aimed at lowering entry barriers for first-time EV customers and city users. Lifetime Battery Warranty (Unlimited Kilometres)
The headline change is Tata’s lifetime battery warranty with unlimited kilometers. This directly addresses one of the biggest worries around EV ownership: long-term battery replacement costs. New 40 kWh Battery Pack

Aggressive Pricing With Battery-as-a-Service
Introductory ex-showroom prices start at ₹9.69 lakh. But Tata has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which brings the entry price down to ₹6.49 lakh. With this setup, customers don’t have to pay for the battery upfront. Instead, they’re charged ₹2.64 per kilometre based on usage. It brings the starting price down significantly and makes the switch to electric feel far more affordable for anyone watching their budget.
Segment-First and Premium Tech
Beyond the hardware updates, the Punch EV also sees a boost in features. It also gets Tata’s eTXV cooling setup, which helps regulate both the battery and the cabin more efficiently. Alongside that, there’s Level 2 ADAS, automatic high beam assist, dual digital displays, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera.
All of this simply makes the Punch EV feel more complete than before. You’re getting features that were once reserved for pricier cars, but without pushing it out of the affordable bracket.
