New Features, More Top Speed, And Safer As Well
The 2026 Bajaj Chetak now gets a bunch of features as well as performance upgrades. The C3501, which is the top-spec Chetak, now comes with a full-fledged Google Maps navigation that can be accessed via the Chetak smartphone app. It also got a power bump from 4.5kW to 4.8kW, which gives it a slightly higher claimed top speed of 80kmph (up from 73kmph).
The performance upgrades have been given to all of the scooters, whereby the C3502 can also reach 80kmph. The C3503, and the C3001 can now reach 70kmph (up from 63kmph), and the C2501 can now go up to a claimed 60kmph, as opposed to the 55kmph limit from before. The hill-hold assist and the two ride modes (Eco and Sport), which were optional on the C35 and the C30 series, are now offered as standard.
The C3501 and the C3502 now come with OTA (Over-The-Air) updates that eliminate the need to visit the service centre for software updates or fixes. And, on the C3001, the brand has optimised its 0 to 80% charging time, which is now down to 2 hours and 55 minutes, from 3 hours and 50 minutes.
What We Think
In our opinion, the Bajaj Chetak series will now feel like a more complete package. The lack of speed for overtakes has been sorted out, the charging time has been lowered, and even more features have been standardised, which makes the scooter stand out from its competitors like the TVS iQube and the Hero Vida VX2. If you were looking to buy the Chetak and were sceptical, we think this update should give you all the clarity to make the purchase.
