Indian electric scooter manufacturers have been on a roll for some time now. With many new products scheduled for launch soon, the industry is getting quite interesting day by day. As electric scooters are gaining a lot of ground in India, if you are planning to buy one, we suggest you wait for these top 5 upcoming electric scooters in India:
TVS M1-S

Expected Price: Rs 1.2 lakh – Rs 1.5 lakh
Expected Launch: 2027
The TVS M1-S, the brand’s first electric maxi-scooter, was unveiled at EICMA 2025. It is built in collaboration with ION Mobility, a brand where TVS is an important investor. ION Mobility scooters follow the traditional south-east asian market design, with a hefty proportion and large wheels that are quite useful when tackling bad roads.
As per the sources, the TVS M1-S will be driven by a mid-mounted electric motor paired to a 4.3 kWh battery pack, which gives it a claimed range of 150 km. The TVS M1-S electric scooter makes about 12.5 kW of peak power, and a massive 254 Nm of peak torque. Other features include fast charging capability, a TFT console, an LED lighting setup, disc brakes at both ends, preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers, and a 26-litre boot.
Ultraviolette Tesseract

Expected Price: Rs 1.45 lakh – Rs 2.5 lakh
Expected Launch: Q1 2027
The Ultraviolette Tesseract is arguably the most anticipated electric scooter in India right now. Ultraviolette claims the scooter will produce 15 kW peak power, making it significantly more powerful than most electric scooters in its segment. The brand also confirmed that the scooter is undergoing road testing and is expected to reach customers in Q1 2027. It was unveiled in India, with a starting price of Rs 1,45,000, but a detailed price breakdown is yet to be revealed.
It is also one of the most radical-looking scooters India has ever seen and strikes a good balance between performance and utility. It comes in three battery pack variants: 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh, and 6 kWh.
Yamaha Aerox-E

Expected Price: Rs 2.50 lakh onwards
Expected Launch: Q2 2026
Yamaha unveiled the Aerox-E – a sporty electric avatar of the popular petrol-powered Yamaha Aerox 155, alongside the launch of the Yamaha EC-06 in November 2025. It looks quite similar to the petrol Aerox but comes in different shades.
It is powered by two removable batteries with a combined capacity of 3 kWh, which give it a claimed range of 106 km. It is driven by a 9.4 kW electric motor with a boost feature, which gives it a power surge. It also gets a lot of features, like 3 riding modes (Eco, Standard, and Power), a TFT console with a turn-by-turn navigation function, and all-LED lighting, among others. When launched at the right price, it will take the Ather 450 Apex, the Ultraviolette Tesseract, and the Simple One head-on.
Ather EL-01

Expected Price: Around Rs 1 lakh
Expected Launch: Q2 2026
Ather unveiled the EL-01 family electric scooter in India last year, at Ather Community Day 2025. It is a ground-up-built product and will be the most affordable scooter in Ather’s lineup, sitting just below the Ather Rizta.
It is built on a brand new modular architecture, where you can fit a lot of different battery packs in the same chassis. So, when launched, it might spawn a few other scooters with similar hardware as well. It was also spotted testing on Indian roads a few weeks ago, which hints at the fact that we might get to see its production version soon.
Simple Energy Family Scooter

Expected Price: Around Rs 1 lakh
Expected Launch: Late 2026
Simple Energy has established itself in the Indian market as a compact, sporty scooter manufacturer, with products like the Simple OneS, Simple One Gen 2, and the Simple Ultra. While all of these scooters are praised for their excellent performance, what lacks is a product that focuses on practicality. Simple’s direct rival, Ather Energy, has the Rizta to deal with this problem. But Simple is lagging behind.
To tackle this and approach a wider buyer range, Simple Energy patented a new family scooter, which has a more family-friendly approach. It gets a neutral design, a spacious floorboard, and a long seat. A spacious boot with at least 30-litre capacity is also expected.
