With just days remaining until its May 28 launch, the cover has effectively been lifted off the 2026 Tata Tiago EV. This confirms that Tata Motors is pivoting its entry-level EV from a strictly budget-conscious commuter into a more desirable, tech-forward premium hatch.
New Tiago EV Caught in the Flesh: The Lime Green Exterior

While Tata has carefully managed the rollout of official teasers, recent real-world sightings have exposed the 2026 Tiago EV without a shred of camouflage. The most immediate takeaway is the introduction of an EV-exclusive “Light Lime Green” colour, which, in our opinion, is also the most elegant one yet.
In line with the brand’s “.ev” design philosophy, the front profile abandons the blacked-out upper grille of the ICE Tiago in favour of a smooth, aerodynamic body-coloured panel. The fascia is anchored by new, fully LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs). To break up the lighter body colour, Tata has utilised aggressive contrasting black cladding on the lower bumper, gloss-black ORVMs, and a blacked-out roof.
At the rear, the aesthetics are equally modernised. The electric hatch now features vertical LED detailing in the tail lamps, bridged by a thick, gloss-black strip. While the centre bar itself does not illuminate, the connected-style treatment successfully visually widens the car’s stance.
Inside the 2026 Tiago EV Cabin: Redesigned Dash and Floating Screens

Simultaneous to the real-world sightings, Tata Motors officially pulled the curtain back on the Tiago EV’s interior, and the upgrades are extensive. The dashboard has been entirely reconstructed into a clean, horizontal layout that utilises layered textures and a fabric-wrapped upper section, drastically elevating the perceived quality of the cabin.
The older, integrated displays have been replaced by a modern dual-screen setup where you get a 10.25-inch floating infotainment touchscreen and a brand-new, free-standing digital instrument cluster. Drivers are greeted by the familiar two-spoke steering wheel, which integrates the illuminated “Tata.ev” logo.
Crucially, Tata has resisted the industry trend of burying vital functions within the touchscreen interface. The Tiago EV retains physical buttons and rotary knobs for its automatic climate control system.
Added Niceties and Better Comfort for Rear Passengers
Historically, entry-level hatchbacks haven’t been the best for rear-seat occupants, with some notable misses that compromise convenience. Tata has made a conscious effort to improve this to some extent. The rear cabin finally benefits from dedicated AC vents, which is a segment-first feature, along with Type-C charging ports.
The centre console has also been entirely redesigned into a floating layout, housing a rotary drive selector and dual phone storage trays equipped with wireless charging. Perhaps the most significant technological leap is the confirmation of a 360-degree camera system, evident from the camera pods mounted beneath the ORVMs, making the Tiago EV one of the most affordable cars in India to offer this parking assistance tech.
