Dual-Motor Performance Explained
Most Harrier EVs use just a rear motor. This one, however, adds a front motor too, so all four wheels get power. As a result, torque jumps from 315 Nm to 504 Nm. In practice, that means quicker overtakes and a 6.3-second sprint to 100 km/h. Also, Boost Mode unlocks extra power for short bursts, which helps on highways. For fun, there’s even a Drift Mode for closed tracks.
Off-Road Ability
The AWD Harrier EV can go well beyond the tarmac. For example, six terrain modes cover Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom. In addition, off-road assist sends power to the wheels with the most grip. Meanwhile, the 540-degree view shows the ground under the car, so you can spot rocks before you hit them. Also, the Harrier EV can wade through water up to 600 mm deep.
Tata Harrier EV Empowered AWD 75 ACFC Features
As the top trim, it packs every feature the Harrier EV offers. Inside, a 36.9 cm Samsung Neo QLED screen and a JBL Black 10-speaker system with Dolby Atmos make the cabin feel premium. Also, you get ventilated, powered front seats, powered Boss Mode and dual-zone climate control. For safety, Level 2 ADAS brings adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go and lane centering. On top of that, Auto Park Assist can park the SUV while you stand outside.
Range and Home Charging
The 75 kWh battery offers a claimed 622 km, which is only 5 km less than the RWD version. That’s impressive, given the extra motor. At home, the included 7.2 kW wall box charges it fully in about 11 hours, so an overnight plug-in does the job. Meanwhile, a DC fast charger takes it from 20 to 80% in about 25 minutes. Finally, the battery gets a lifetime warranty for the first owner.
Empowered AWD 75 ACFC vs Empowered 75 ACFC
The Empowered 75 ACFC (RWD) costs Rs 28.29 lakh, so the AWD asks for Rs 1.5 lakh more. In return, you get the front motor, 504 Nm, Boost Mode, Drift Mode and six terrain modes instead of four. However, both share the same features and nearly the same range. So, the AWD makes sense only if you want more power or plan off-road trips.
Empowered AWD 75 ACFC vs Fearless Plus AWD 75 ACFC
The Fearless Plus AWD 75 ACFC costs Rs 27.29 lakh, which is Rs 2.5 lakh less. It keeps the same dual-motor setup and performance. However, it misses Level 2 ADAS, Auto Park Assist and the Samsung Neo QLED screen. Therefore, pick the Fearless Plus AWD if you want AWD on a budget, or the Empowered for every feature.
Who Should Buy the Tata Harrier EV Empowered AWD 75 ACFC?
This variant suits buyers who want the complete Harrier EV: top features, strong performance and off-road ability. It’s ideal if you drive often in the hills, on rough roads or through heavy monsoon rain. Also, the included charger makes it easy if you’re new to EVs. However, if you stay mostly on city roads, the RWD Empowered saves you Rs 1.5 lakh.
