Top 5 EVs You Can Buy In India For The Price Of The New iPhone Duo 2TB

Apple’s most expensive iPhone costs Rs 4.5 lakh. Here’s what that same money can get you in India’s EV market.

There are expensive smartphones. And then there is Apple, whose smartphones cost as much as an actual family car. The new 2026 iPhone Duo 2TB costs Rs 4,49,900 in India. At that point, you’re no longer talking about a casual device upgrade. You’re talking about enough money to buy motorcycles, electric scooters and even enough to get surprisingly close to an electric car. So let’s forget about the cameras, the foldable display and the 2TB of storage for a moment.

What could you buy instead of the Apple iPhone Duo? As it turns out, quite a lot.

1.Ather Konarc: Four Scooters For One iPhone

      Price: Rs 99,999 onwards

Let’s begin with some irresponsible arithmetic calculations. The newly launched Ather Konarc starts at around Rs 99,999, which means the Rs 4,49,900 iPhone Duo 2TB budget is enough for at least four of them.

Four Ather Konarc electric scooters would cost approximately Rs 3,99,996, leaving you with another Rs 49,904. That’s one iPhone versus four electric scooters.

And unlike four iPhones, four scooters actually have a fairly obvious use case. You could give one to every member of your family; you could start a delivery business; Or you could simply buy one and keep the other Rs 3.5 lakh. But where’s the fun in that? The point isn’t that anyone  should actually buy four Konarcs, but it’s that the cost of one smartphone can now get you an entire fleet of scooters. Talk about dumb financial decisions now.

2.Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover: Forget Four Scooters, Just Buy One Proper Electric ADV

Price: roughly Rs 4.5 lakh for the top-spec Desert Wing variant

This is where things get actually interesting. Instead of buying four inexpensive electric scooters, you can put your iPhone money toward something genuinely performance-orientated that will definitely give you goosebumps. It’s FAST, RUGGED, and needs LOW maintenance; all the ingredients for a recipe of cheap fun (obviously cheaper than its ICE counterparts).

The Ultraviolette X-47 packs a 10.3 kWh battery pack that drives its electric motor, producing 30 kW of peak power and 100 of peak torque. The claimed top speed is 155 kmph, and the 0 to 60 kmph acceleration time is just 2.7 seconds, QUITE FAST!

Suddenly, the comparison isn’t about quantity anymore. It’s about what you’d rather own.

iPhone Duo 2TB: 2TB storage. Foldable display.

      OR

Ultraviolette X-47: 30 kW, 100Nm, 155kmph, and the capability to travel for pennies.

One stores your memories. The other can give you enough to fill all 2TB. If you’re actually going to spend that much money, there is something deeply satisfying about spending it on something that can actually move you, and sometimes your soul as well.

3.Tata Tiago EV: You’re Just Rs 19,100 Away From An Affordable Electric Car

Price: Rs 4.69 lakh under the BaaS scheme + an additional Rs 2.6 per km driven

The Tata Tiago EVstarts considerably higher when purchased with the battery outright, but the Tata’s Battery-as-a-Service version brings the upfront price down to around Rs 4.69 lakh, with a separate battery rental charge. That means the iPhone Duo 2TB is just

Rs 19,100 cheaper than a Tata Tiago EV.

      That’s an absurdly narrow gap.

Think about it. You can spend Rs 4,49,900 on a smartphone and still be only Rs 19,100 short of the upfront price of a brand-new electric hatchback, which will take you places.

There is, of course, a catch. The battery isn’t included in that upfront price. But that doesn’t change the fact that the new iPhone is crazy expensive. This might be a little absurd, and that is exactly why it works.

4.MG Comet EV: An Electric Dwarf For Almost A Similar Price

Price: Rs 4.99 lakh to battery rental fees.

The MG Comet EV normally starts at Rs 7.80 lakh ex-showroom, which puts it well outside the iPhone Duo 2TB budget. But MG’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option changes the whole equation. The Comet EV Executive can be bought for Rs 4.99 lakh upfront + Rs 3.20/km for the battery, which sounds like a steal deal.

While this makes the iPhone Rs 49,100 cheaper than the Comet EV’s BaaS price, the Comet can carry four people around town. It gets a 17.4 kWh battery, a claimed 230 km range, and a teeny-tiny 4.2 m turning radius, making it particularly well suited for city traffic. Now, the choice is yours:

Be grumpy about getting stuck in traffic on the phone, or actually get a solution for the dreaded traffic jam.

And, we definitely think it’s a lot of money for a phone that is going to be an accessory.

      5. Simple Ultra: One Long-Range EV Scooter For Joyrides

      Price: around Rs 2.35 lakh

Here’s where the list comes back to two wheels. The Simple Ultra is one of the more ambitious electric scooters in India’s market, built around a 6.5 kWh battery and a claimed range that stretches well beyond what most mainstream electric scooters offer – 400 km.

At roughly Rs 2.35 lakh, the iPhone Duo 2TB budget can theoretically buy two Simple Ultras.

Two Ultras would cost roughly Rs 4.7 lakh, just Rs 20K more than the iPhone budget. That’s enough to make this comparison particularly painful for Apple.

One iPhone or two long-range electric scooters. And, unlike the Ather Konarc, this isn’t just about quantity or practicality. All you get here is performance and aggressive looks. The Ultra is the enthusiast’s choice here. It’s the EV you’d pick if you actually enjoy riding and want something capable of covering serious distances without constantly thinking about where the next charger is. One gives you more space for videos; the other gives you more bandwidth to wander off.
