Mahindra & Mahindra has officially teased its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, ahead of its global launch on 27 November 2025. The new model of the brand will be a three-row, seven-seat electric SUV, broadening Mahindra’s dedicated electric range and targeting families looking for space and zero-emission motoring.
Built using the INGLO platform
The Mahindra XEV 9S will be built on the brand’s INGLO electric architecture, which features a flexible skateboard design ideal for EVs. This platform supports a flat floor layout, resulting in spacious interiors and greater ride comfort. The XEV 9S is expected to share design features with the smaller XUV e9, but has larger dimensions and a complete seven-seat layout.
Expected Performance and Range
While Mahindra has yet to reveal details, the XEV 9S is expected to have dual battery pack options, similar to those seen in the XUV e9, with battery capacity ranging between 59 and 79 kWh. According to reports, depending on the setup, the range might be greater than 600 kilometres on a single charge. The SUV is also likely to offer fast-charging capabilities, allowing for quick top-ups for long-distance travel.
Design and Interior Highlights
The teaser images of the model show a streamlined profile, distinct LED light signatures, and a striking, futuristic style that goes great with Mahindra’s new EV identity. Inside, the SUV is believed to feature a tech-forward cabin with a large panoramic display, connected-car features, and premium materials. By offering flexibility and an ample amount of boot space, the three-row setup is the go-to option for families.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is going to be part of the brand’s “Born Electric” series, alongside the XUV e8, e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE. Rall-E. This launch will boost Mahindra’s position in the rapidly growing electric SUV industry, and meanwhile, it also highlights the brand’s dedication to developing EVs from the ground up rather than choosing the existing ICE platforms.
