27th November, Bengaluru – Mahindra has officially introduced its new flagship electric SUV, the XEV 9S, at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru on November 27th. This seven-seater SUV, priced at ₹19.95 lakh, is built on the INGLO platform, intended exclusively for families. It offers a perfect blend of spacious interiors, impressive performance, and cutting-edge tech.
Test drives for the XEV 9S are set to start from December 5, 2025, and the bookings will open on January 14, 2026, with customer deliveries commencing shortly thereafter on January 23, 2026.
Price & Variants
The Mahindra XEV 9S has an introductory price of ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model, Pack One Above (59 kWh). It comes with several options providing flexibility in battery and power configurations across different trims:
- Pack One: Gets two battery pack options: a 59kWh priced at Rs 19.95 lakh and a 79kWh priced at Rs 21.95 lakh.
- Pack Two Above: Gets two battery pack options: a 70kWh priced at Rs 24.45 lakh and a 79kWh priced at Rs 25.45 lakh.
- Pack 3: Comes with a 79-kWh battery pack priced at Rs 27.35 lakh.
- Pack Three Above: Also available in a 79 kWh battery pack priced at Rs 29.45 lakh.
The EV also offers an AC wallbox charger as an optional add-on, with the 7.2 kW unit priced at ₹50,000.
Power & Range
XEV 9S gets three LFP battery options: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and a top-spec 79 kWh. The largest 79 kWh battery pack comes with a claimed range of around 683 km, which makes it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in the Indian market.
The highest variant is rear-wheel drive (RWD) and delivers up to 210 kW (approximately 286 PS) and 380 Nm of torque. This allows the XEV 9S to provide great performance while offering efficiency. The SUV is built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform and can comfortably seat seven passengers, making it an ideal long-range family EV.
Interiors & Tech
The XEV 9S cabin features a cutting-edge triple-screen dashboard layout and an openable panoramic sunroof. Even the base variant is well-equipped, providing sliding and reclining seats in the second row, wireless phone charging, and several climate modes, including Keep Mode, Camp Mode, and PawPal for pet comfort, among others.
Rear passengers will benefit from electrically powered Boss Mode features and reclining second-row seats. Moreover, the car is packed with a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which firmly positions it as a premium offering for safety.
Dynamic Chassis Details
To ensure passenger comfort and stable handling, the Mahindra XEV 9S features a front McPherson Strut independent suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension.
Charging
Mahindra XEV 9S supports AC charging at 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW, with the 79 kWh battery taking around 8 hours for a full charge (0–100%) using the 11.2 kW AC charger.
Platform & Dimensions
The ‘S’ in the model name highlights its aim at a very functional 7-seater configuration, which is perfectly suited for large families. The dimensions of the SUV are:

- Height: 1747 mm
It has an impressive 2762 mm wheelbase, which contributes significantly to the cabin volume. To top it off, the XEV 9S has a decent 501-litre boot space available when the third row of seats is down.
