For India, the newly patented Boulder concept can feature as a premium SUV. Hyundai will initially develop a pickup truck for global markets, followed by an SUV version intended for India, as per reports.

Although in its early concept form, the Hyundai Boulder SUV patented in India is designed to look rugged, featuring a boxy silhouette boasting aggressive and muscular styling elements. Moreover, the concept is the embodiment of the ‘art of steel’ design philosophy that the entity is known for. Under this well-known design language, the Boulder SUV incorporates diverse bold attributes:
The Hyundai Boulder SUV in its concept iteration features a clamshell bonnet and upright windscreen, along with rugged bumpers that complement its upright silhouette. It gets a vertically stacked LED headlight configuration and boxy LED taillight elements, providing it with new-age design appeal. Speaking of contemporary elements, the concept also boasts suicide doors, unique to Rolls-Royce cars. Nevertheless, from the closed grille design, it seems it will be an electric SUV.
The Cabin | A Vintage-Themed Space?
The interior section is where things get much more interesting, from what is expected to feature in the cabin. This space will integrate rugged panels and more practical usage of materials, making it perfect for off-road applications. But all these will be designed around a vintage theme. This also means that the use of more physical switchgear is expected for the same practicality factor. A classic retro-styled but modern steering wheel can be offered with the SUV in its production spec.
The Launch Timeline | When To Expect It?
The Hyundai Boulder concept is expected to transform into production-spec iterations by 2030, following its launch in the US markets first, which will then give a window for launch in India. The SUV versions will be first showcased in India, in an all-electric form, because the Indian market is shifting heavily towards electrification and more EV adoption. Nevertheless, if Hyundai decides to bring it even quicker to the market, this SUV will meet the criteria of plenty of enthusiasts around.
