Variants and Feature Levels
The eMax 7 comes in two variants: Premium and Superior, each offered with 6 or 7 seats. The Premium covers the essentials well, including the big rotating touchscreen, 6 airbags and auto climate control. Meanwhile, the Superior adds premium comfort features and a full ADAS suite.
BYD eMax 7 Exterior Features
The eMax 7 gets LED headlamps and a full-width LED tail light bar with dynamic rear turn signals. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and gets electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. In addition, the Superior adds a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, roof rails and frameless front wipers.
Interior and Comfort Features
Inside, the eMax 7 offers synthetic leather seats in a 2+3+2 (7-seater) or 2+2+2 (6-seater) layout. The 6-seater gets individual captain seats in the middle row, while the 7-seater gets a 60:40 split bench. Every version gets automatic climate control, roof-mounted AC vents and a PM2.5 air filter. Moreover, the Superior adds a 6-way powered driver seat, a 4-way powered passenger seat and ventilation for both front seats.
BYD eMax 7 Infotainment Features
A 12.8-inch touchscreen sits at the centre and can rotate between portrait and landscape modes. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with built-in navigation and a voice assistant. A 5-inch digital driver display shows key information, while a 6-speaker audio system handles music. In addition, USB Type-A and Type-C ports are available in the front and middle rows.
Convenience Features
Daily use is easy, thanks to keyless entry and start, an NFC card key and one-touch power windows with anti-pinch. Moreover, V2L lets you power appliances like a laptop or kettle from the car’s battery. The Superior also adds a powered tailgate and a wireless phone charger. Other features include cruise control, auto-dimming high beams and follow-me-home headlamps.
BYD eMax 7 Safety and ADAS Features
Every eMax 7 gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control and TPMS. It also gets an electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill hold and ISOFIX mounts. The Superior adds Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure assist, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera also helps when parking this large MPV.
Before You Buy the eMax 7
Keep a few points in mind. First, the Premium misses the panoramic roof, ventilated seats and ADAS. Second, the driver display is just 5 inches, which is small for a car at this level.
