Electric scooters are already very popular in India and have proven to be more convenient, efficient and effective in the long run than petrol scooters.
The popularity and adoption of buying an electric bike in India have not been as fast and exponential as those of electric scooters. The reason for this gap is mainly due to misconceptions surrounding compromised riding experiences, range anxiety, and the minimalist design of electric bikes compared to petrol bikes. And for someone who loves riding bikes, I understand why most of us might not want to compromise on design or performance.
Well, miss them no more! There are options to get excited about.
Let’s take a look at the 8 best electric bikes in India you can buy in 2025, and also understand which one is best for you.
1. Ultraviolette X47 Crossover
(Starting Price: 2.74 Lakh, Claimed Range: 323 km on 10.2 kWh battery pack)

Ultraviolette X47 is the newest addition to Ultraviolette’s motorbike line-up. It is built on the proven F77 platform, but reimagined as a crossover with dual-purpose utility. The bike brings the best of design, performance, safety and handling in a single package.
While reviewing the bike, I found it very convenient to ride and manage, while confidently outperforming on the roads. You can watch the full review on our YouTube channel – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX3gH2ZxooI
What’s good about Ultraviolette X47:
- Design – The bike is designed really well, and the detailing that UV has put into making this bike aesthetically perfect can be felt.
- Performance – The bike is a killer when it comes to performance; it brings the same DNA as that of F77, but the power feels more linear and refined.
- Safety – Rider safety has been reimagined in this bike. From switchable ABS to geofencing, dashcam and ADAS, it’s all there and functional.
What’s not so good about Ultraviolette X47:
- Kerb Weight – Bike has approximately 210 kgs of kerb weight, which can be felt when you are standing or while riding at lower speeds.
- Range – Range is ok, but I felt it could have been even better, as the bike is focused on crossover utility, and long rides might need a little more juice.
- Warranty – Standard warranty on the bike is 3 years or 30,000 km on lower variants. For a bike this expensive and premium, it feels a little under the line.
Who should buy Ultraviolette X47 Crossover?
I felt the Ultraviolette X47 fits perfectly for someone.
- Who likes riding a muscular and powerful bike every day to the office and going for short weekend rides.
- Who likes a very well-designed, good build quality, futuristic-looking motorbike and doesn’t mind spending a little premium
- Who values the performance of a bike above everything else and wants the power to be top-notch in his/her bike
- Who needs an all-round bike which can keep them happy for the next 6-10 years.
2. Revolt RV400
(Starting Price: 1.4 Lakh, Claimed Range: 150 km in Economy Mode)

Revolt RV400 is an affordable, value-for-money electric bike offered by Revolt. It was one of the first electric bikes to be available in India. It is designed to offer convenient and comfortable rides for your daily commutes within the city.
We have had a chance to ride the Revolt RV400 bike for a brief 2-3 hours. We liked how the linear power is delivered (especially in the Normal & Sports modes) and how easily it can be ridden in city traffic. While the power felt a little underpowered (the top speed we could touch was 71kmph), it seemed like it could handle commuting within the city easily.
What’s good about Revolt RV400:
- Lightweight – The Bike is not that heavy and is easy to handle. Someone who likes lightweight bikes, this can be an added advantage.
- Removable battery – The battery can be detached. While the battery feels a little heavy to take out, the flexibility to carry it where you want and charge it is good.
- Covers all basics – I liked how it has everything you need in a commuter bike, like the GPS, disk brakes (both front and rear), mobile connectivity, 200 mm ground clearance, fast charging, etc.
What’s not so good about Revolt RV400:
- Range – The claimed range in Sports mode is around 80 km, which is a little on the lower side. Again, considering the price at which this bike is offered, it is ok.
- Speed – I felt the acceleration and top speed (around 75-80 kmph) could have been better, considering Revolt is marketing this in the Sport segment.
Who should buy the Revolt RV400?
I felt the Revolt RV400 fits perfectly for someone.
- Who needs a daily commute bike with all basic features included
- Who likes a simple, not-so-complicated bike with unnecessary jargon
- Who has a fixed budget of 1.5 Lakhs and needs
- Overall, it is a decent bike worth its money
3. Oben Rorr EZ
(Starting Price: 1.3 Lakh, Claimed Range: 175 km in 4.4 kWh variant)

Oben Rorr EZ is a new addition to Oben’s line-up. It carries a nice Neo-Classic lean design that makes the bike stand out. It is targeted towards daily commuters and young riders who need a good build quality bike in a budget, but also need that extra performance to keep them happy.
While test riding the bike for a quick review, the bike exceeded our expectations. The power felt really well-balanced and slick for the size of the bike. The build quality is also decent (although fit and finish could be better) for the price range it is being offered at.
What’s good about Oben Rorr EZ:
- Performance – The bike’s performance is commendable. It delivers decent acceleration whenever you need it.
- Design – The bike is pretty well designed. It does not make a style statement, but it can easily keep you happy with the overall neoclassical look.
- Handling – Although I felt the bike felt a little heavy, it delivers a nice, balanced ride, especially in the city.
What’s not so good about Oben Rorr EZ:
- Battery Draining – Some users and owners of the bike have reported irregular battery draining on the web. We have not done a range test to confirm this claim, though.
- Some Features Are Missed Out – While the bike feels like a good package, there are a few missing features like regenerative braking, hill assist, ABS, etc., which we felt could have been added.
Who should buy Oben Rorr EZ?
I felt the Oben Rorr EZ fits perfectly for someone.
- Who needs a daily commute bike with good performance.
- Who likes a lean and stylish bike
- Who does not have a higher budget or money to spend on a motorbike but needs a good overall bike

- Vehicle Warranty – The standard vehicle warranty is just 3 years or 30,000 km, which is better for a bike of this price point.
