Intro
Mahindra is keeping its flagship electric vehicle lineup fresh by adding a new exterior colour to the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition. Originally launched earlier this year with exclusive satin finishes, the premium version of the coupé SUV now gets a striking “Satin Desert Myst” shade. This new paint option gives buyers another unique look without altering the vehicle’s ex-showroom price or its extensive feature list. Now, the car comes in three shades: Satin White, Satin Black, and the newly launched Satin Desert Mist.
Pricing and Base Configuration
The Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition is priced at Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It is built directly upon the fully loaded Pack Three trim. Interestingly, because of its specific packaging, the Cineluxe Edition is actually over Rs 1 lakh more affordable than the standard Pack Three model it is based upon, which retails at Rs 30.50 lakh.
The New Color and Cosmetic Changes
The new Satin Desert Myst colour takes the standard Desert Myst shade, already available on regular XEV 9e variants, and applies a matte-like satin finish that is exclusive to the Cineluxe series. This new hue joins the existing palette of Satin White, which is paired with gloss-black body cladding, and the stealthy Satin Black. On the outside, the vehicle also gets a dedicated ‘Cineluxe’ badge on the rear pillars to mark its special status.
Inside the cabin, the changes are purely aesthetic. The interior features a unique Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black two-tone theme. The black leatherette seats, dashboard, front-centre armrest, stubby gear selector, and two-spoke steering wheel are all accented with contrasting brown stitching, giving the cabin a distinct upscale feel.
Features and Technology
Because it inherits its equipment from the Pack Three trim, the Cineluxe Edition is heavily loaded with technology.
- Displays: The dashboard is dominated by three 12.3-inch high-definition digital displays that span the width of the cabin, serving as the digital instrument cluster, central infotainment, and co-passenger entertainment screens.
- Audio: It features a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio setup equipped with Dolby Atmos.
- Comfort: Buyers get a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat with a memory function.
- Safety and Tech: The suite includes an augmented-reality (AR) head-up display, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and an in-car camera that tracks driver alertness while doubling as a selfie camera.
Battery, Range, and Performance
Mechanically, the Cineluxe Edition remains completely identical to the standard 79 kWh XEV 9e. The 79 kWh battery comes mated to a rear-wheel-drive electric motor which produces 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The electric coupé SUV can do a 0-100 km/h in 7.45 seconds, while the claimed range is rated at 656 km. The vehicle supports ultra-fast 180 kW DC charging, capable of a 20-minute charge time from 20% to 80%.
