      What's good

      What's good

      • Italian Design: One of the most stylish and premium-looking EV in the ₹18–22 lakh segment.
      • Safety & Warranty: A 5-star BNCAP rating combined with a 10-year warranty is a massive confidence booster.
      • Punchy Performance: The 201 PS motor makes it a genuinely fun car to drive on open roads.
      What's not so good

      What's not so good

      • Ergonomics: The lack of a physical instrument cluster and physical AC controls can be frustrating for traditional drivers.
      • Firm Ride: The suspension can feel a bit “thumpy” over broken city roads.
      • Rear Seating: The high floor pan means rear-seat passengers don’t get the best under-thigh support for long journeys.

The VinFast VF6 is a sleek, premium and compact electric SUV with the “Duality in Nature” philosophy, which combines both style and utility. It stands out with its panoramic sunroof, digital cockpit, 12.9-inch touchscreen, and advanced Level 2 ADAS for safer, tech-savvy driving. Powered by a 59.6 kWh battery, the VF6 provides up to 486 km of range on a single charge and supports fast charging.

      Expert Verdict

The VinFast VF6 is a refreshing, premium city-EV that prioritizes design and technology. Its massive 10-year warranty and a 5-star safety rating make it a standout, though its minimalist, screen-heavy cabin has a learning curve.

      VinFast VF6 Design

      ★ 8.5/10

      Exterior

The VinFast VF6 is easily one of the most handsome electric crossovers in India today. Designed by the legendary Italian house Pininfarina, it ditches the boxy, aggressive SUV look for something far more sophisticated and fluid. The signature “V” wing LED light bar at the front is integrated into the hood line, creating a futuristic face that is instantly recognisable. From the side, the short overhangs and the sloping, coupe-like roofline give it a sporty stance that rivals luxury crossovers. With a ground clearance of 190mm, it sits high enough to handle nasty Indian speed breakers while maintaining a low-drag aerodynamic profile.

      Interior

The cabin is a departure from traditional Indian car interiors. It is a strictly minimalist environment, heavily influenced by Tesla’s design philosophy. You won’t find a sea of buttons here; instead, nearly every function is housed within the massive central touchscreen. The use of “Mocca Brown” vegan leather, soft-touch dashboard materials, and subtle copper accents provides a “premium lounge” vibe. The flat floor design makes the cabin feel incredibly open, especially in the front, where the absence of a traditional center console bridge creates a “walk-through” space.

      Build Quality

VinFast has invested heavily in its Tamil Nadu manufacturing facility, and it shows. The VF6 feels dense and well-screwed together. The doors close with a reassuring, heavy “thud,” and there are no audible rattles even over rough pavement. While some lower plastics in the footwell are hard, the touchpoints, the steering wheel, armrests, and seats feel world-class.

      VinFast VF6 Features

      ★ 8.5/10

The VF6 is essentially a high-end smartphone on wheels. The centerpiece is the 12.9-inch freestanding infotainment system that acts as the car’s brain.

      • Tech Suite: It features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker sound system, and a highly accurate Head-Up Display (HUD). The HUD is crucial because there is no traditional instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.
      • Luxury Add-ons: You get dual-zone climate control, a panoramic glass roof (which makes the cabin feel huge), and ventilated front seats, an absolute must for Indian summers.
      • Smart Modes: Unique features like “Pet Mode” (keeping the AC on for a pet while you’re away) and “Camp Mode” set it apart from its domestic rivals.

While the lack of physical buttons for AC is controversial, the 12.9-inch screen is incredibly sharp and lag-free. The HUD is one of the best in the business, making the missing instrument cluster a non-issue after the first 30 minutes of driving.

      VinFast VF6 Performance & Range

      ★ 8/10

Under the floor sits a 59.6 kWh LFP battery pack. The VF6 is front-wheel drive, with the top-spec “Wind” trim producing a punchy 201 PS and 310 Nm of torque.

Even though it does a 0 to 100kmph in just 8.9 seconds, the power delivery is linear and not jarring. As for the range, the ARAI claimed range is 468km, while we got around 380km in mixed driving conditions. You can achieve up to 400 km within the city limits if you drive it in “Eco” mode.

The acceleration isn’t just fast; it’s mature. It builds power predictably, which makes it less intimidating for those switching from petrol cars. The 310 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking on highways.

      VinFast VF6 Ride & Handling

      ★ 8/10

The VF6 uses a sophisticated independent rear suspension setup, which is rare in this segment.

      • Handling: It feels planted on the road, which makes it quite engaging to handle. There is very little body roll during quick lane changes.
      • Ride: To manage the heavy battery, the suspension is tuned to be slightly firm. At low speeds, you will feel sharp jolts, but as the speed climbs, the ride flattens out beautifully. It feels significantly more stable at 100 kmph than many of its lighter petrol counterparts.

Most EVs in this price bracket use a torsion beam rear; the independent setup here makes the VF6 feel much more sophisticated through corners. It’s a driver’s EV.

      VinFast VF6 Safety

      ★ 10/10

VinFast has made safety its calling card in India. The VF6 has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, which is the gold standard for Indian road safety.

      • Hardware: 7 Airbags come as standard, along with ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and Traction Control.
      • ADAS Level 2: The car is packed with radar and camera-based sensors. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Auto Emergency Braking work surprisingly well on marked Indian highways, though the “Forward Collision Warning” can be a bit sensitive in chaotic city traffic.

Getting a 5-star BNCAP rating as a new brand is a massive statement of intent. The ADAS calibration is better suited for Indian ‘organized chaos’ than many European luxury imports.

      VinFast VF6 Space & Comfort

      ★ 8/10
      • Cabin Space: The 2,730mm wheelbase is generous. Front passengers have immense legroom thanks to the open floor design. In the rear, three adults can sit abreast without too much shoulder-rubbing.
      • Seating & Comfort: The sitting posture in the front is excellent, and the seats offer great under-thigh support. In the rear, the floor is slightly high (common in EVs), which leads to a minor “knees-up” posture for taller passengers, but the headroom is sufficient even with the sloping roof.
      • Storage: You get a good 423 liters of boot space, which is pretty decent. Unfortunately, there is no frunk as the area under the hood is packed with the motor and cooling electronics.

      VinFast VF6 Charging & Warranty

      ★ 8/10

This is where VinFast attempts to disrupt the market.

      • Charging: It supports 100kW DC fast charging, allowing you to go from 10% to 70% in just 25 minutes. A standard 7.2kW home wall-box will take about 8–9 hours for a full overnight charge.
      • Warranty: VinFast offers a staggering 10-year or 2,00,000 km vehicle warranty. This includes the battery pack, which is far beyond the 8-year industry standard, providing unmatched peace of mind for long-term owners.

The 10-year warranty is the biggest ‘buy’ signal for the VF6. It effectively removes the risk associated with being an early adopter of a new brand in India.

      VinFast VF6 Service & Network

      ★ 8/10

As a new entrant, VinFast’s physical network is much smaller than Maruti or Hyundai, but they are expanding aggressively.

As of 2026, they have established over 50 touchpoints across major Indian cities. They offer a “Mobile Service” program where technicians come to your home for routine maintenance and software fixes, reducing the need to visit a workshop.

The mobile service van is a smart move. Since most EV maintenance is software-based, not having to visit a service center for every small glitch is a huge convenience factor.
