Tata launched the Curvv.ev SeriesX in India, with prices starting at Rs 16.99 lakh. The new series has three variants: Accomplished X 55, Empowered X 55, and Empowered X 55 Dark Edition. Here’s the full price list:
| Variant | Price in Rs |
| Accomplished X 55 | Rs 16.99 lakh |
| Empowered X 55 | Rs 19.19 lakh |
| Empowered X 55 Dark Edition | Rs 19.49 lakh |
*(all prices are ex-showroom)
All of these new variants bring the 55kWh battery pack at a lower price point, providing even more value for your money. The SeriesX is also available in the new Nitro Crimson colour scheme. This may look like a new price revision, but in reality, these are just the formalised discounts that were already being offered.
The Curvv.ev SeriesX has the same powertrain as the regular Curvv.ev, with the 55kWh battery pack which gives it up to 502 km of claimed range. The peak power output is 121.3kW and 215Nm. While being priced right, the Curvv.ev is also one of the longest-ranged SUVs in its segment now.
The Accomplished X 55 variant gets a dual 10.25-inch screen setup for its digital instrument console, which is touch-enabled as well. It is also equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades, R-Comfort seats with ventilation, and a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitor.
The Empowered X 55 gets a 12.3-inch infotainment system (touchscreen), a JBL 9-speaker sound system, a powered tailgate that has gesture controls, Level 2 ADAS and even V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability. The car also gets a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and 2-step reclining rear seats. Moreover, there are 18-inch alloys as well.
What We Think
We think this isn’t about making the Curvv.ev cheaper, but positioning it better, and readying the lineup for the launch of the new Tata Sierra EV, which could happen soon. With these prices, the brand has not only offered a clear value proposition, but also made space for the future launches, which could have clashed with the Curvv.ev’s prices. This also gives us a glimpse that the Sierra EV could be offered somewhere between the Rs 15-20 lakh mark.
