Ola S1 X+ Gen 3 Variants Explained
Ola first launched the Gen 3 S1 X+ with a 4 kWh battery, then added the 5.2 kWh version in April 2026. The bigger pack uses Ola’s in-house 4680 Bharat Cells, the same cells found in the pricier Ola S1 Pro. Apart from the battery, both Ola S1 X+ Gen 3 variants share the same mid-drive motor, chassis and core features. Therefore, buyers mainly pay extra for range and charging flexibility.

The 5.2 kWh version adds 78 km of claimed range, which suits riders with long daily commutes. However, it costs Rs 43,000 more, so riders covering under 50 km a day will be well served by the 4 kWh.
Features in Both Versions
Every S1 X+ gets a 4.3-inch colour segmented display with Bluetooth navigation and call alerts. Moreover, both versions include cruise control, reverse mode and over-the-air updates. Riders can also switch between ride modes, including Sports and Eco. In addition, both offer 34 litres of underseat storage, enough for a half-face helmet.
Which Version Should You Buy?
The 4 kWh version makes the most sense for city riders who charge at home every few days. It costs slightly more than the regular Ola S1 X but adds cruise control and stronger performance. Meanwhile, the 5.2 kWh version suits riders who cover long distances or want to charge only once a week. However, neither version gets the 7-inch touchscreen, dual-channel ABS or rear disc brake of Ola’s S1 Pro range.
