Oben Beats Revolt To Take The Top Spot
Oben Electric has emerged as India’s best-selling electric motorcycle manufacturer in September 2026 with 1,384 registrations, putting it 369 units ahead of Revolt, its primary competitor. The timing is interesting because Oben has substantially revamped its motorcycle lineup this year.
The brand launched the Oben Rorr Evo in April 2026, with a 3.4 kWh LFP battery, a 180 km claimed range and a 110 kmph top speed. The Rorr Evo has also crossed 25,000 bookings within 15 days, with deliveries subsequently beginning in July.
Oben has also streamlined its range by discontinuing the older Rorr and Rorr EZ (as per then official website), leaving newer models such as the Oben Rorr Evo and Rorr EZ Sigma to carry the brand forward.
Revolt Takes Second While Ultraviolette Crosses 500 Units This Month
Revolt finished September 2026 in second place with 1,015 registrations. The brand currently has several electric motorcycles focused on the commuter segment, including the Revolt RV1 and Revolt RV400. The RV1, which starts at Rs 99,999, offers a removable battery and makes Revolt’s range more accessible than its performance-orientated electric motorcycles.
Ultraviolette is playing in a very different part of the market but still managed an impressive 516 registrations, putting it third. Unlike Oben and Revolt, Ultraviolette predominantly caters to the premium performance segment. Its Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover currently start at Rs 2.49 lakh, with the capability of reaching 155 kmph top speed, which is quite impressive. That makes Ultraviolette’s 516-unit tally particularly interesting considering the considerably higher price point, and niche buyer range.
Matter And Raptee Complete The Top Five
There’s a substantial drop after the first three brands. Matter registered 69 units, while Raptee recorded just 17 units during September. Both manufacturers offer unusual propositions. The Matter Aera uses a four-speed manual gearbox, making it one of the most unconventional electric motorcycles currently on sale.
Raptee’s T30 takes a different approach. Its 240V architecture supports CCS2 fast charging, allowing the motorcycle to use compatible electric-car charging infrastructure, which is actually widespread. It gets a 5.4 kWh battery, 200 km claimed range and a 135 kmph top speed. The sales numbers, however, show just how concentrated India’s electric motorcycle market currently is.
Electric Motorcycles Still Have Plenty Of Room To Grow
September’s rankings reveal a market that’s very different from electric scooters. There isn’t a TVS iQube or Bajaj Chetak-sized volume driver here yet. Even as the category leader, the Oben Electric only sold 1,417 units, which, when compared to scooters, is quite low. But the products themselves are becoming considerably more diverse.
Oben and Revolt are targeting commuters, Ultraviolette is building the performance end of the market, Matter is experimenting with a geared electric motorcycle, while Raptee is pushing more advanced, high-voltage architecture and car-compatible fast charging, which makes living with its bike much easier.
For now, though, Oben Electric has the numbers on its side. With 1,417 registrations, it finishes September ahead of Revolt by 369 units and Ultraviolette by 881 units, giving the Bengaluru-based manufacturer the top position among India’s electric motorcycle brands
