TVS Motor Company’s electric scooter, the iQube, has crossed 8 lakh wholesale sales in the Indian market. The milestone was reached by the end of December 2025, after TVS dispatched 35,177 units during the month. December was also the fourth straight month in which iQube wholesales stayed above the 30,000-unit level, pointing to sustained demand rather than a one-off spike.
Growth, Production & Exports
The iQube’s sales journey has gathered pace gradually. The first 1 lakh units took more than three years to achieve. The next 1 lakh followed much faster, in about 10 months. The scooter crossed the 3 lakh mark in April 2024, around four years after launch. Sales moved much faster after that. It took just over a year to add the next 4 lakh units, and only three months to add the last 1 lakh by the end of 2025. Since its launch in January 2020, the iQube has taken about six years to reach the 8 lakh milestone.
Cumulative factory dispatches of the iQube in India stand at 8.24 lakh units, according to SIAM data. The total iQube production reached 8.31 lakh units after exports brought 4,045 units to the total as of December 2025.
Role Within TVS’ Scooter Business
TVS sold 18.13 lakh scooters through its entire portfolio during FY2025, which included the Jupiter, NTorq, Zest, and the electric iQube. The company achieved this growth after experiencing a 25 per cent rise from its previous fiscal year performance. The iQube accounted for 2.73 lakh units, or about 15 per cent of TVS’ total scooter volumes for the year.
Between April and December 2025, TVS dispatched 2.53 lakh iQubes, up 28 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier. This helped TVS raise its scooter market share to 29 per cent during the nine months.
Retail Numbers Remain Strong
Retail data shows a similar trend. As per Vahan records, iQube retail sales stood at 7.65 lakh units between January 2020 and January 24, 2026. Over the same period, Bajaj Auto’s Chetak, which was launched in the same month as the iQube, recorded 5.85 lakh retail sales. Calendar year 2025 was the iQube’s strongest retail year so far, with 2.99 lakh units sold, falling just short of the 3 lakh mark.
FY2026 Off to a Strong Start
The iQube started FY2026 with a strong sales performance. The nine-month period has seen wholesale sales reach 2.53 lakh units, which brings them near the total sales achieved in FY2025. Monthly dispatches stayed above 30,000 units for four straight months, with the highest point coming in November 2025.
Volumes through the October–December period remained consistently high. With the last quarter still to come, current trends suggest that full-year wholesales could cross 3 lakh units, which would also take cumulative iQube sales past the 9 lakh mark.
Prices for the iQube were reduced by up to ₹26,000 following GST-related changes. TVS also introduced additional battery options across the iQube range. The updates were rolled out during the period in which iQube volumes increased.
