Mahindra continues to celebrate its rich electric racing heritage. Mahindra launched the brand new BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition. Arriving right on Independence Day, this special edition softens some of the aggressive racing elements seen on the previous Mahindra BE 6 Formula E model. Instead, it leans closer to the clean and futuristic design of the standard vehicle. The result is an appealing electric SUV that blends everyday practicality with serious motorsport flair. Bookings are already open across Mahindra dealerships, and the first set of buyers will get their cars starting August 26, 2026.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition Pricing and Variants
Mahindra is offering the Freedom Edition in two specific trims. The brand based these trims on the existing ‘Three’ variant and a newly introduced, fully loaded ‘Four’ variant. Both options sit at the premium end of the BE 6 lineup. Here is the official ex-showroom pricing for the new models.
| Variant | Ex Showroom Price |
| BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition Three | Rs 24.45 Lakh |
| BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition Four | Rs 26.95 Lakh |
Here’s how the Freedom Edition fits in the overall BE 6 Sporteq lineup. The exclusive Freedom Edition skips the smaller batteries entirely. It is strictly available with the top-tier 79 kWh power pack. The table below outlines the complete pricing structure across all variants.

Exterior Tweaks and a New Colour
The most noticeable change sits right at the front. The previous Formula E edition stood out by using circular projector headlights. Mahindra decided to drop those elements for this new launch. The car now uses the sleeker C-shaped daytime running lights and the smoother bumper design found on the regular BE 6.
However, it still carries plenty of special touches. You will find prominent Formula E badges stamped on the front fenders. To make it stand out further, buyers can pick from four colours, including a stunning new paint option called Rosso Impulso. This deep red colour is decorated with unique tri-colour decals scattered across the bodywork to give it a sporty vibe.
A Cabin Built for the Driver
The entire cabin is draped in a vibrant black and Firestorm Orange colour scheme. The seats feature a premium mix of leatherette and suede upholstery. Look up, and you will see special racing decals applied directly to the panoramic infinity roof.
Interestingly, Mahindra decided to keep the dramatic halo-style loop on the dashboard. Because of this driver-focused layout, the car sticks to a dual-screen setup instead of the triple-screen design seen on some other trims. The top Four variant comes packed with advanced features, including a live head-up display, automated parking, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, and knee airbags.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition Under the Skin
While the manufacturer focuses heavily on visual upgrades, the core electric powertrain remains highly capable and performance-orientated. Both variants of the Freedom Edition use a large 79 kWh battery pack, which gives it a massive claimed range of 683 km on a single charge. This battery sends power to a single rear-mounted electric motor that produces 281 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
What We Think Of The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition
While the new Mahindra electric car does cater to the enthusiasts, it also looks the part with its radical design. It is also one of the most exciting electric cars in its price segment, and now with this edition, it also offers exclusivity to its buyer. For someone who is looking for a compact electric SUV, that too with a design that will definitely turn heads (not in a flashy, ‘I Need Attention’ way), the new Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition would be a suitable pick.
