BMW iX4 Makes Its Global Debut
BMW has officially unveiled the iX4, its latest electric coupe-SUV based on the Neue Klasse architecture. It follows the new-generation BMW iX3 and the electric i3 sedan as the third model built in the brand’s next-generation electric lineup.

The iX4 shares much of its underlying technology with the iX3 but adopts a more expressive design language. It features a sloping coupe-like roofline, a redesigned rear section, slim LED lighting and even gets BMW’s new illuminated kidney grille treatment. All variants receive the M Sport package as standard, while the performance-focused M60 gets distinctive ‘M Yellow Lights’, inspired by BMW’s motorsport division.
BMW iX4 Battery, Range And Performance

BMW has announced three variants of the iX4, including the range-topping, performance-orientated M60 xDrive. All three variants use dual motors with all-wheel drive. The M60 is the most powerful one, producing 612 PS and 875 Nm and accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds.

400 kW Fast Charging And A New Digital Cabin
The new iX4 uses BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive technology with an 800 V electrical architecture and supports up to 400 kW DC fast charging. BMW claims the iX4 50 xDrive can add charge worth up to 387 km of range in just 10 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
On the interior side, the coupe-SUV gets BMW’s Panoramic iDrive setup, combining a 17.9-inch central touchscreen, Panoramic Vision display and optional 3D head-up display. Other highlights include a panoramic glass roof, a bunch of connected features, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and BMW’s Heart of Joy vehicle-control system, whose intelligent recuperation handles up to 98% of everyday deceleration tasks without engaging traditional friction brakes, thereby boosting the car’s efficiency by up to 25%. All of this translates to a much sophisticated system, with minimal losses.
BMW iX4 Launch Timeline And India Availability

The new BMW iX4 is scheduled to enter global markets in March 2027, initially with the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive variants. The top-spec, performance-focused M60 xDrive variant will join the lineup subsequently, with orders opening in the first month of 2027, i.e., January, for select markets. BMW hasn’t confirmed an India launch or pricing yet, but it is very likely that this car might come to India in the second half of next year.
