MG Motors has unveiled a new modular architecture for the country, called the ‘MG ADAPT, or Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology’. It is a modular platform that can be modified to underpin a pure EV (BEV), Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), Hybrid, and Range Extended EV.
Unlike conventional vehicle platforms that are designed around a single powertrain, this new MG platform has been engineered to accommodate various combinations of powertrains, allowing MG to develop multiple products using the same underlying architecture. The use of this platform could reduce development costs while speeding up the launch of new models.
