Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara Will Be Launched in India on September 3, 2025

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to come with two battery pack options, a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh pack.
India’s well-established automaker the Maruti Suzuki, has finally confirmed the release date of its first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, and it is going to make its debut in India on September 3, 2025. After exhibiting the eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023, Maruti has now stated that the final production version, known as the e-Vitara, will be available in India soon. The electric SUV has already been introduced in a few international countries under the name Suzuki eVX.
Key Specifications and features
The EV has two battery options: a 49 kWh battery that can provide a range of approximately 346 km (WLTP), and a 61 kWh pack (the larger one) that can provide up to 426 km on a full charge. It will also feature fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes. In India, the electric SUV is believed to be limited to front-wheel drive. It also gets a peak power from 142 to 172 horsepower, depending on the type, with smooth performance that is suitable for both city and highway use.

The e-Vitara will be based on the brand’s new Heartech-E platform and will be developed in Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant. The batteries will be manufactured by BYD, which is well-known for its distinctive LFP blade cell technology. The price is going to start from ₹17 lakh and can go up to ₹26 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch is going to happen in the festive season, which usually sees a rise in vehicle sales.
The e-Vitara will rival the popular electric SUVs in India like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and the upcoming Mahindra BE series. With Maruti’s extensive service network and known brand value, the e-Vitara might soon find traction in the growing EV market.
