Ather reports record August sales of 17,181 units, up 62% YoY and 6% from July, led by Rizta scooters.
According to data from the government’s Vahan portal, Ather Energy had its best-ever monthly performance in August, with 17,856 electric scooters registered across India. This represents a 62% increase over the same month last year, when 11,046 units were sold. It also exceeds Ather’s previous high of 17,430 units established in March 2024, a month when demand peaked before the FAME II subsidy expired.
August sales are also up 6% from July 2025 (16,394 units). August has now surpassed Ather’s earlier successful months, such as July 2025 and October 2024, which stood at 16,248 units.

Rizta Leads the Charge
Ather’s growth has been significantly boosted by the launch of the Rizta lineup, which quickly became a customer favorite. It comes with a lot of interesting features, ample storage space, spacious seat, and everyday practicality, making it stand out in the market. The Rizta models come with a price between ₹99,999 and ₹1.42 lakh, with a range from 123 to 159 kilometers.
Ather added the Rizta S 3.7 kWh model to its lineup in July 2025, which provides a 159 km IDC range along with improved convenience and safety features. The Rizta, along with the 450 and 450 Apex scooters, has strengthened Ather’s product lineup. All models benefit from the company’s fast-charging infrastructure, the Ather Grid, which has expanded to over 3,900 charging sites nationwide.

Strong market standing
With this record-breaking month, Ather has taken almost 17% of the electric two-wheeler market, out of a total of 104,306 EVs sold in August (excluding Telangana). While TVS maintains its dominance with more than 23% of the market, Ather has surpassed Bajaj, which faced production problems this month. Between January and August 2025, Ather’s cumulative sales totaled 116,046 units, accounting for 92% of its total sales in 2024 (126,355).
What’s ahead
Ather is on track to achieve 1.5 lakh unit sales for the first time in 2025, with sales increasing steadily. Analysts predict that if this rate continues, the company’s annual sales could reach 1.75 lakh by the end of the year.
