It’s a proper 7-seater electric MPV, offering a wide 2.8 m of wheelbase. Designed specially for families, it offers good space and comfort in all three rows . MPV 7 comes with one battery pack of 60 kW and has a claimed range of 517 km on a single charge. Feature wise, it checks all the essentials, although it misses out on ADAS.

Expert Verdict

The newly launched VinFast VF MPV 7 steps into the Indian market as a highly practical electric family hauler. It trades premium interior flair for massive dimensions and an anxiety-free range and ownership.

Vinfast MPV 7 Design

★ 6.5/10

Exterior

Visually, the VF MPV 7 cannot be mistaken for anything but a people mover. However, it follows the brand’s signature, futuristic design language, making it an attractive family car. The front and rear are dominated by striking connected LED light bars that wrap elegantly around the VinFast logo. Riding on large, sporty 19-inch alloy wheels with a healthy 183 mm of ground clearance, the vehicle possesses an assertive road stance. A subtle chrome window lining adds just the right touch of upscaleness to its long profile. Talking about long profile, the VF MPV 7 boasts the highest wheelbase in its class.

Interior

Step inside, and you are met with a hyper-minimalist cabin layout that comes in either all-black or a dual-tone black and brown finish. It is completely dominated by a massive 10.1-inch infotainment display that houses the functionality for most of the vehicle settings. While the design looks clean and modern, it inherently lacks the wow factor that Indian buyers have come to expect for a near ₹25 lakh car.

Build Quality:

The plastic quality feels robust and the interior panels are well-put-together. Some of the surfaces feature attractive textures to break the monotony. However, the noticeable absence of soft-touch materials around the cabin still strips away that premium feel, leaving it feeling slightly utilitarian and overpriced compared to lavishly appointed rivals.

Vinfast MPV 7 Features

★ 6/10

VinFast has taken centralisation to an extreme degree. The 10.1-inch touchscreen, which supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, serves as the command center for almost everything.

While it declutters the dash, forcing drivers to use the screen for even fundamental controls like air con controls, or adjusting the outside rearview mirror (which you can’t do on the fly), can feel highly unintuitive.

There’s also no dedicated driver instrument cluster, therefore, drivers have to use the screen for the speedometer readouts, as well as setting including drive modes, and regenerative braking settings. We would have liked to see at least a HUD (head-up-display) which is offered with the smaller VF6 and VF7 e-SUVs, as you will have to take your eyes off the road every time to check vehicle speed.

Moreover, for its asking price, the car misses out on an alarming number of modern essentials; there is no sunroof, no ADAS, wireless charger, and even no rear armrest or sunshades. You only get the basics including a non-branded 4-speaker sound system, a PM2.5 air filter, keyless entry & go, automatic climate control, and cruise control. The driver seat is 6-way adjustable, but you will have to do it manually. Thankfully, the brand does offer connected car technology with smartphone app control.

Vinfast MPV 7 Performance & Range

Under the skin, the VF MPV 7 utilises a tried-and-tested 60.13 kWh LFP battery pack. Power is sent to the front wheels via a single electric motor producing a healthy 150 kW (201 bhp) and 280 Nm of instant torque.

While ARAI certifies the range at 517 km, real-world Indian driving conditions, with full family payloads, AC usage, and stop-and-go traffic, will realistically yield a very dependable 370 km to 420 km on a single charge.

In comparison, the only three-row family car in this price segment with a higher range is the XEV 9S, which allows buyers to upgrade to a larger 70 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack.

In terms of performance, the VF MPV 7 easily out-punches FWD rivals like the Carens Clavis EV, with the. heavy MPV promising a claimed 0 to 100 kmph timing of under 9 seconds.

However, keeping the vehicle’s family-friendly intentions in mind, Vinfast has gone for a more gradual, effortless acceleration over kick-in-the-pants feel that we typically associate with many EVs. There are three drive modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) to further adapt performance to your driving situation. The Eco mode actually limits the top speed to 140kph.

The VF MPV 7 offers three levels of regenerative braking, though it isn’t very aggressive even in the highest setting. There is no single-pedal drive mode on offer.

Vinfast MPV 7 Ride & Handling

★ 6.5/10

The massive 2,840 mm wheelbase gives it great straight-line stability, making weekend inter-city trips feel planted. While we do not expect it to be a corner-craver anyways, what does stick out is the slightly higher amount of body roll when you make quick lane changes at triple-digit speeds.

What feels sharp though is the steering, offering good feel and precision. Braking too, is equally strong, assuring the confidence you would want in a family-mover.

We just wished Vinfast made the cabin experience more hushed when cruising on the highways, as the whine from the motor and wind-noise does creep in.

Vinfast MPV 7 Safety

★ 6.5/10

The Vinfast VF MPV 7 is yet to undergo a crash-test by Bharat NCAP, so we would reserve our judgement on the safety rating until then.

What we can tell you is that the other two cars in the Vinfast Indian portfolio, VF6 and VF7, have been tested by BNCAP, where both of the vehicles achieved a perfect 5-star score. Moreover, in our interaction with the Vinfast brand, we have realised that the automaker understands the value-for-money orientation of the Indian market. They understand how safety is a key priority for the modern Indian buyer, hence, we expect them to make little compromises on the crashworthiness of the platform.

Features wise, standard safety equipment includes 4-airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, rollover mitigation, hill hold assist, Traction Control (TCS), electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and ABS with EBD and Brake Assist. There’s no ADAS tech that’s on offer as of now, however, we expect Vinfast to release that functionality with future updates.

Vinfast MPV 7 Space & Comfort

★ 8/10

Frunk Space, Boot Space, Cabin Space:

Thanks to the class-leading 2,840 mm wheelbase, cabin real estate is generous across the board. The rear seats are placed marginally higher than the front ones giving a theatre-like seating experience. The middle row can be reclined or moved forward to liberate more space in the last room.

Headroom too is sufficient even for the third row passengers, and that coupled with the large quarter glass, lends the cabin a roomy feel. We do, however, miss a panoramic sunroof in such a big car, which would have further enhanced the sense of airyness.

However, boot space is limited to just 126 liters with all three rows up. Thankfully, the seats split 50:50 and 60:40, opening up to a cavernous 1,240 liters when folded flat. Unlike the Kia Carens Clavis EV though, the VF MPV 7 doesn’t get any frunk space.

Headroom, Sitting Posture, Under-thigh support:

Unfortunately, the sheer vehicle length doesn’t translate perfectly to third-row comfort due to the battery’s raised floor. While adults can physically fit, they will sit with their knees raised, making it less than ideal for long hauls. The lack of charging ports in the final row is another slight inconvenience.

Moreover, the seats feel a bit too cushioned, which is great for short city runabouts, but compromises comfort on long hauls. We also wish Vinfast had given a centre armrest in the second row.

Vinfast MPV 7 Charging & Warranty

★ 8.5/10

The MPV 7 supports rapid 80 kW DC charging, capable of surging from 10% to 70% in a mere 30 minutes.

To completely eliminate buyer anxiety, VinFast provides a staggering 10-year battery warranty (or 2,00,000 km), a 7-year vehicle warranty (or 160,000 km), and 3 years of free maintenance (or 36,000 km). The brand is also offering a 7-year paint warranty alongside 7 years of roadside assistance.

Adding to the peace of mind is the “Value Assured” program, guaranteeing a 75% buyback of the ex-showroom price after two years.

The standard portable charger offered with the vehicle is a 3.5kW unit. The brand is also offering free charging at their dedicated charging stations until March 31, 2029.

Vinfast MPV 7 Service & Network

★ 6.5/10

Brand trust is a hurdle for any newcomer, and VinFast is tackling it aggressively. Having just inaugurated its 50th touchpoint in March 2026, the company aims for 75 showrooms by year-end. The service network currently relies on over 130 workshops (including third-party tie-ups), with ambitious plans to expand to 230 locations across the country by the end of 2026.

While Vinfast appears to be committed to expanding its presence, there is still a long way to go and the current footprint is still highly committed. Therefore, we recommend buyers to only purchase the vehicle if they have a Vinfast support network within 100 kilometres of their home.
