Mahindra Reveals Four Bold SUV Concepts on Independence Day 2025, Powered by New ‘NU IQ’ Global Platform

Mahindra unveiled four SUV concepts today at a special world premiere event: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.X, and Vision.SXT.

Mahindra marked its territory with the launch of its all-new SUV models built on the “Freedom_NU” platform at India’s 79th Independence Day. The brand introduced four of its distinctive and futuristic models today at a special world premiere event: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.X, and Vision.SXT.

These new prototypes offer a glimpse into Mahindra’s future SUV lineup, with production versions expected between 2027 and 2030. Each model is exclusively designed to meet specific needs, from extreme off-roading to urban mobility, and reflects Mahindra’s growing design language and technological strategy.

 ‘NU IQ’ Global SUV Platform

The four SUV concepts are built on Mahindra new “Freedom_NU” platform. This platform is designed to handle several kinds of vehicles, ranging from rugged off-road SUVs to city-friendly automobiles and trucks. It is a significant step forward for Mahindra, combining modern design, new technology, and great performance. In the next few years, this platform will be used to develop multiple novel models for both the Indian and global markets.

The four models & their features 

Vision.S

The Vision.S model could be a glimpse of the next-generation Scorpio. The concept has: 

  • robust and upright style, with flared wheel arches
  • a bold front grille 
  • noticeable hood scoop

It’s definitely built to make a statement, blending conventional SUV rigidity with a modern edge.

Vision.T

The model is the Vision.T, which foreshadows the famous Thar’s future. The Vision.T, is: 

  • Inspired by Mahindra’s earlier Thar.e electric concept
  • Retains the spirit of adventure
  • Has a muscular body
  • large tyres designed for tough terrain
  • rugged style ideal for outdoor and off-road fans 

Vision.X

Unlike the rugged S and T variants, the Vision.X focuses on urban appeal. It comes with a 

  • A coupe-like profile
  • Integrated tail lamps
  • Aimed at city drivers and young families

It’s likely to join Mahindra’s XUV lineup as a beautiful five-seater SUV that prioritizes comfort and technology.

Vision.SXT

The final and most aggressive of the four concepts is Vision.SXT. It looks like a boxy vehicle and appears to be built for high duty use. The SXT is based on either the Scorpio or Thar chassis, and gets a : 

  • A clamshell bonnet
  • Exposed hinges
  • Muscular bumper

Hinting that it may serve as both a lifestyle pickup and an everyday utility vehicle.

Fresh Platform for a New Age

All four models are developed on Mahindra’s new “Freedom_NU” platform, which the company states will power its upcoming wave of innovation. Although these remain concept vehicles for now, Mahindra intends to launch production models within the next five years, seeking to strengthen its leadership across various SUV categories.
