Expert Verdict
The Raptee T30 is the first motorcycle from a Chennai start-up founded in 2019, and it was the first Indian electric two-wheeler to reach production with a high-voltage architecture. The T30's strongest card is charging, as its 240 V powertrain allows it to plug into the CCS2 fast chargers built for electric cars. Two versions are on sale, and both differ only in styling. The motorcycle looks handsome in person, and we were also impressed with its performance in sprint mode. Where it falls short is the usable range in its faster modes, braking feel, early fit-and-finish consistency and a sales and service footprint that currently covers just two cities.

What's good
- Excellent grip and stability, even in wet conditions
- Regen braking is quite effective and feels smooth
- Nine levels of regen allow you to customise it
- Overall, ride quality and handling are better than Mach 1
- CCS2 compatibility lets it use car DC fast chargers, with 20 to 80 per cent in around 36 minutes
- Quick home charging from a regular socket, with no wall box needed
- Strong, smooth acceleration in Power and Sprint, and a 135 km/h top speed
- 8-year or 80,000 km battery warranty, and every feature included as standard
- Approachable 790 mm seat height and stable highway manners
What's not good
- Regen does not work till the battery dips below 89%
- There is no cruise control feature yet
- The display's boot-up time is slow
- Traction control can feel too intrusive in high mode
- Short usable range in the faster modes, and the bike locks into Comfort mode at 25 per cent charge
- Sales and service limited to Chennai and Bengaluru
- Brakes lack initial bite, and ABS intervenes abruptly under hard braking
- No traction control
- Firm ride over sharp bumps and heavy low-speed steering
