Ather scores record sales, while the festive season increases overall EV scooter demand by 38% month on month.
India’s electric two-wheeler market saw a significant transformation in the month of October 2025. According to the most recent sales report, Bajaj Auto has dethroned TVS to take the lead in EV scooter sales, capping off a successful festive season. The month saw a total of 1,39,000 electric scooters sold, a 38% increase from September’s 1,00,810 units.
Bajaj Auto Takes the Lead
Bajaj Auto topped the national sales chart for the first time in October, selling 29,917 units, up from 18,770 in September—a remarkable 59% gain. The brand now has a 22.7% market share, primarily due to rising demand in Maharashtra.
TVS slips to second place
Long-time market leader TVS iQube has fallen to second place for the first time in several months. The company sold 29,153 units, increasing 30% month on month from 22,422 in September. Despite the gain, TVS’ market share fell slightly to 22.1%, showing fierce competition at the top.
Ather reports its highest-ever sales.
In third place, Ather Energy achieved its best monthly performance yet, selling 27,077 units, a stunning 54% more than September’s 17,629 units. Ather’s market share has grown to 20.5%, owing to robust holiday demand and a positive response to its most recent performance and connectivity feature upgrades.
Ola and Hero maintain steady growth
Ola Electric ranked fourth, delivering 15,719 units in October, a 19% increase over the previous month. Despite production and service issues, Ola’s sustained sales momentum maintained its market share at 11.9%.
Hero Electric (Vida) ranked fifth, selling 15,605 units, a 24% increase month over month. The ongoing investigation into FAME-II subsidy anomalies has had little impact on its sales performance, but its market share has decreased to 11.8%.
Ampere and BGauss show significant gains.
Greaves Electric (Ampere) made a major comeback in the mid-tier segment, selling 7,196 units, representing an 80% month-on-month increase and boosting its market share to 5.5%. Meanwhile, BGauss followed with 2,833 units, marking a robust 40% gain and a 2.1% market share.
Lower rankings remain stable.
Brands at the bottom of the top 10 chart had similar rankings.
- Pure EV stayed eighth with 1,690 units (-3% MoM) and 1.3% share.
- River Indie ranked ninth with 1,600 units (-6% MoM) and a 1.2% market share, but its recent Gen 3 scooter launch suggests a future comeback.
- Kinetic Green finished tenth, up from 936 to 1,079 units, representing a 15% gain and 0.8% market share.
The festive season drives overall growth.
Despite a modest 11% year-on-year growth rate, the holiday season delivered a much-needed boost to the EV industry. Almost all major brands benefited from consumer sentiment, discounts, and increased availability in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.

Sales of electric two-wheelers surpassed 1.06 million from January to October 2025, and total sales will surpass 1.25 million units by the end of the year. Sales surged during the festive season; Bajaj returned to the number one position, while Ather sold its highest-ever. This means old brands are coming back strong, while the new-age companies in the sector are also increasing their sales to meet a steady level of demand.
The last two months of the year can be more competitive with so many new launches and seasonal deliveries. If the phase keeps up, 2025 will be the strongest year for India’s electric two-wheeler sector, showing that the EV revolution is not going to slow down soon.
