Ultraviolette Automotive, an EV manufacturer based in Bengaluru, has reportedly delayed the introduction of its highly anticipated Tesseract electric performance bike. According to the latest industry reports, the launch date has been pushed out to Q3 or Q4 of 2026, from January 2026.
Reason for the Delay
The delay occurs as the brand continues to test and fine-tune certain motorcycle configurations to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. It is also prioritising the battery setup, dynamic stability, and safety performance before rolling out the Tesseract into production.
This clearly showcases that the company is upholding its benchmark standards, following the success of the Ultraviolette F77, which set a high bar in India’s electric motorbike sector.
Strong demand before the delay
The Tesseract has attracted broad attention in the EV market since its launch in March 2025. Ultraviolette has already got around 60,000 pre-bookings, including an amazing 20,000 orders in its first week. Very recently, the company also gave an introductory pricing of ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers, which was later extended to the following 30,000 consumers due to high demand. Following the introductory tranche, the base variant is priced at ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Ultraviolette has also received more than 7,000 pre-orders for the Shockwave, which was announced alongside the Tesseract.
