Citroen’s Euro-spec eC3 spotted testing in India. Features a 44 kWh battery, 113hp motor, and 100kW DC fast charging for better performance. Citroen is currently testing the latest European-spec eC3 on public roads in Bangalore. These test runs aim to evaluate global electric components and safety systems for potential use in upcoming Indian models.
Boxy SUV Design
Visually, the spotted electric hatchback looks like a compact SUV. It features a boxy frame with a high ground clearance and a flat front nose. The test car also displays the new electric brand logo and unique C-shaped LED light signatures. Unlike the current model, this version uses bumpers and larger wheels to give it a more rugged and modern electric look.
Modern Cabin Features
Inside, the next-gen electric car moves away from simple layouts. It is expected to feature a slim digital instrument cluster and a large 10.25-inch floating touchscreen. A standout addition is the head-up display (HUD), which projects vital electric driving stats directly into the driver’s line of sight. The interior of the car uses high-quality materials and a new flat-bottom steering wheel to give a more luxurious feel.
High-Output Battery
The European model has a larger 44 kWh battery pack that is a big step up over the currently available Indian version. The powerful electric unit drives a 113 hp motor, which gives faster acceleration and a higher speed. With a full electric charge, the car can cover around 320 km, making it suitable for highway drives and long journeys.
Rapid Charging Power
Charging is another bright space for the new electric platform. It supports a 100 kW DC fast-charge option, allowing the battery to fill from 10% to 80% in a mere 26 minutes. This makes the electric charging experience much more convenient compared to current slow-charging models. The system also includes better thermal management to keep the battery-powered drivetrain cool in hot weather.
Market Positioning Strategy
Looks like Citroen is using the Euro-spec eC3 model to test new tech and parts that could fix gaps in its current lineup. While the official launch of the Euro-spec eC3 model in India is not confirmed, the company will be using this model to check the platform’s feasibility and test features that could be used in future Indian made EVs. More details about the model and the plan will be revealed in the coming months by the brand.
