Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to reveal the XEV 9S, which is their latest and most expensive electric SUV. The teaser shows innovative features that characterise the vehicle’s “born-electric” nature and luxury. The debut of the SUV is set for November 27, 2025.
The EV is making its entry into the Indian market with a positioning targeting the upper tier of electric SUVs. The crossover model positioning of the XEV 9S, above the XUV.e8, is part of Mahindra’s strategy to carve out a space in the “born-electric” segment and lure customers from high-end EVs.
Three-Screen Dashboard
The most striking feature confirmed in the interior teaser is the latest three-screen dashboard setup that looks nothing less than a spaceship cockpit. Each display is different, but still connected, with functions and a cockpit experience that is high-tech. The screens are distributed as follows:
| Screen Function | Expected Placement |
| Driver Display | Digital Instrument Cluster |
| Infotainment | Central Touchscreen System |
| Co-Passenger | Dedicated Front Passenger Entertainment |
Harman Kardon Audio
There is also a major enhancement in the audio experience with the announcement of a Harman Kardon sound system. The luxury audio brand indicates a commitment to sound quality, which is particularly important in the noise-free atmosphere of an electric car. The system is also rumoured to incorporate cutting-edge tech, for example, Dolby Atmos, to provide the listener with a better, immersive sound experience.
High-Tech Specifications
The XEV 9S will be built from Mahindra’s “born-electric” platform, which is fully dedicated to electric cars. The platform will be able to provide the best battery capacity, weight, and overall efficiency. It is predicted that the bigger XEV 9e will have the same battery technology as the smaller one.
| Technical Specification | Confirmed/Expected Value |
| Battery Capacity | 79 kWh (Expected) |
| Range per Charge | Up to 656 km (Expected) |
| Chassis | Born-Electric (BE) Platform |
Safety and Seating
The SUV targets family users, introducing luxury safety features along with a suitable seating arrangement. The company has announced that the car will come with ADAS Level 2 driver assistance that guarantees high safety and semi-autonomous driving functions.
Although the complete interior has not been entirely disclosed, the XEV 9S is believed to be a three-row, seven-occupant vehicle that will have a 2-3-2 seating layout to suit the needs of bigger families. The passenger compartment presents a dark, psychologically driven design combined with silver highlights and quality stitching that together suggest the use of premium materials.
Additional Cabin Features
Convenient and luxurious features have been previewed to improve the overall experience of those in the cabin:
- Premium Materials: The whole cabin will be made of soft-touch materials.
- Driver Comfort: The seats will have a memory function, and there will probably also be heated front seats.
- Convenience Controls: Among the expected features are an electronic parking brake and a powered tailgate.
- Ambience: A panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting will be installed and will work together to create a pleasant atmosphere in the interior.
