Mahindra XEV.7e (XUV700 EV) launch is likely by Dec 2025. It will feature a triple-screen cockpit, up to 656km range, and a price between Rs 20-30 lakh.
Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of a new electric 7-seater SUV, which is still known by the name of the XEV.7e (or XUV700 EV). There is a high chance that the launch will take place by the end of 2025, and the vehicle has been extensively seen in the form of a test mule. The vehicle will be launched in the Indian market as a fast and capable electric family EV. The XEV.7e is a tactical decision to capitalise on the great popularity of the XUV700 and its success in the quickly growing market for premium 7-seater electric SUVs.
Launch Timing Update
The XEV.7e, which bears a likeness to the present XUV700 with an internal combustion engine, is almost ready to be released officially. Industry insiders say that the new electric 7-seater will be unveiled at the end of December 2025. This means that the XEV.7e will be one of the most eagerly anticipated electric vehicle launches for the latter half of the year, which indicates Mahindra’s assertive push into the EV segment.
Futuristic New Cabin
The XEV.7e’s interior will experience a significant upgrade in not only technology but also luxury, as it will be sharing major design traits with the forthcoming XEV.9e. The cockpit will incorporate a groundbreaking three-screen configuration that consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment system, and a dedicated 12.3-inch entertainment screen for the co-driver. Also, it will have the versatile three-row layout with an option of 6- or 7-seater configurations.
Dual Battery Options
The electric SUV will reportedly make use of Mahindra’s totally new INGLO-platform-based powertrain, which provides consumers with the option of having either of the two battery pack sizes.
| Battery Pack | Power (PS) | Claimed Range (MIDC) | Drivetrain |
| 59kWh | 232 PS | 542 km | Rear-Wheel Drive |
| 79kWh | 285 PS | 656 km | Rear-Wheel Drive |
Furthermore, Mahindra is anticipated to present a more energetic dual-motor setup for an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant that will be able to create excellent performance.
Features and Safety
The XEV.7e is going to be a car full of high-end features like a 16-speaker Harman
Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, a panoramic sunroof/glass roof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). Safety is the main priority, and in that regard, standard features are going to be six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a very high chance of obtaining a 5-star BNCAP crash test rating.
Expected Price Rivals
The pricing strategy is a key factor for the XEV.7e’s success. It is expected to be priced
in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). This will put it right up against the already established competitors and the new models coming up, like the Tata Harrier EV and the BYD Atto 3. Still, since the XEV.7e is likely to be the only 7-seater EV in this price bracket, it, therefore, gets a unique competitive advantage.
