Mahindra & Mahindra is set to expand its BE electric SUV lineup with a new Formula E-inspired special edition of the BE.06. The move comes as the company doubles down on limited-run models for 2026, driven by the strong market response and collector demand generated by the BE.06 ‘Batman Edition’.
Batman Edition Success
The Mahindra BE.06 ‘Batman Edition’ was a hit in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Just 300 units were allocated initially, and the “extraordinary outpouring of enthusiasm” prompted Mahindra to increase production by more than three times, upping the total allocation to 999 units so as to satisfy fan and collector demand.
New Edition Planned
The limited edition ‘Batman Edition’ has given Mahindra such commercial and marketing success that it is looking for future opportunities in limited editions. The company has indicated that it will be releasing SUVs with a specific partner or theme in 2026, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The goal is to capitalise on the look of rare, visually striking models in the expanding Indian EV market.
Design Overhaul Focus
Like the ‘Batman Edition,’ the special editions are more about the unique visual and thematic design elements rather than the performance upgrades. The previous edition was custom-painted in satin black with gold accents on brake callipers and suspension, and the Bat logo was worked into the exterior and interior, including a special welcome animation and custom-themed finishes in the cabin.
Top-Spec Base
The upcoming special editions are likely to be based on the high-end BE.06 variant, specifically the Pack Three configuration. The highest model variant is equipped with a bigger 79 kWh battery pack, which offers an ARAI-certified range of 682 km and a power output of about 282 bhp and torque of 380 Nm with its rear motor.
INGLO EV platform
The BE.06 is among the initial vehicles that Mahindra’s exclusive, ‘born-electric’ INGLO EV platform. This skateboard design is significantly responsible for the SUV’s features, including its aggressiveness and coupe-SUV shape, a flat cabin floor, and strong performance, while also providing enough room for the large battery.
Loaded With Tech
The electric SUV is highly endowed with cutting-edge technology. Among the key features of the interior are the ultra-modern dual-screen configuration (two 12.3-inch displays) and a high-end 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system. The higher trims also come with a well-rounded Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which not only facilitates driving but also offers safety in great measure.
