Hero MotoCorp’s electric division, Vida, has released teasers of four new electric motorcycles slated for launch at the EICMA 2025 event in Milan. The new models are the Vida VXZ, Vida Dirt-E, Vida NEX, and Vida UBEX; each of the models showcases the brand’s growing ambition towards performance and adventure EV focus.
Expanding the Electric Portfolio
Following the success of the Vida V1 electric scooter, Hero is now ready to join the electric motorcycle market with a variety of models to meet the needs of different riders. Each of the teaser bikes seems to target a distinct niche, ranging from robust off-roaders to futuristic street bikes.
According to the teaser video, the Vida VXZ appears to be a sporty commuter, the Dirt-E appears to be designed for off-roading, the NEX has a modern, aggressive naked styling, and the UBEX suggests a compact urban performance motorbike.
The Model List
1. Vida Dirt-E: The Dirt-E, as the name suggests, is designed for riders who like to “get dirty in the mud”. The teaser depicts a true dirt-bike layout driven by an electric powertrain, which could be the production version of the Lynx concept.
2. Vida UBEX: Two electric motorcycles with the UBEX label have been teased. The first one seems to be a production-ready model that will include quality features like the following:
- Upside-down (USD) front forks
- A mid-mounted motor
- Belt drive
- A roadster style
And second variant appears to be much more radical, with:
- A supermoto-style design
- Composite chassis
- Hollow rear subframe that was most likely intended as a concept
3. Vida VXZ: The VXZ will be a full-blown production motorcycle rather than a concept. The teaser shows that it will come with features like a muscular silhouette with LED lighting akin to the Vida V2/VX2 scooters, and it is expected to be the line’s flagship.
4. Vida NEX: The NEX concept completely takes a different direction; the teaser shows an intriguing three-wheel layout with two front wheels (each with disc brakes) and a rear hub motor. This model clearly implies Vida may enter the reverse-trike electric category.
Expected launch and global debut
All four models will make their global debut this month at the EICMA 2025 in Milan. Following the event, Hero is likely to bring these bikes to India by mid-2025, selling them at various pricing points. According to reports, the Vida VXZ could be the first electric motorcycle to be sold in India, and it will most likely be positioned as an entry-level model.
Hero MotoCorp’s Electric Ambitions
Hero’s new lineup intends to bolster its position in the rapidly expanding electric two-wheeler sector. Following the success of the V1 series, Hero’s EV business, Vida, will continue to lead the company’s global electrification push. With these upcoming models, Hero enters the premium and performance EV segment. Brands like Ultraviolette, Revolt, and Tork Motors currently dominate this segment.
What The Company Says
While Hero MotoCorp has yet to announce specifications or pricing formally, the company’s leadership has hinted that the Vida brand will play an important role in fostering global EV innovation. Dr Pawan Munjal, Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, has previously stated that the firm is devoted to “delivering sustainable mobility through design, technology, and innovation.”
