The first Supercharger Station will now get four V4 Superchargers that give 250 kW and 267 kilometers of range in under 15 minutes.

Tesla has made a significant step toward extending its footprint in India by setting up its first Supercharger station in Mumbai, following the successful launch of its first showroom. The Supercharger Station, which is located at One BKC in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, is intended to provide Tesla owners with a rapid and reliable way to recharge their vehicles.

Fast and Powerful Charging

The Supercharger Station gets four V4 Superchargers that can deliver up to 250 kW, allowing a Tesla Model Y to add up to 267 kilometers of range in less than 15 minutes. There are also four slower 11 kW destination chargers on site to meet extended parking times. Charging costs are ₹24 per kWh for Superchargers and ₹11-14 per kWh for destination chargers.

Tesla says this is just the beginning. The Mumbai Supercharger is the first of eight stations planned in India. Major cities, like Lower Parel, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, will get these Supercharger stations by the end of the year.

Bookings and Deliveries

Along with the charging network, Tesla launched an online Design Studio for Indian consumers. This charging unit allows users to customize and book their cars, starting with the Model Y, which is priced at ₹59.89 lakh. The deliveries may commence in major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram in the third quarter of 2025, and each new vehicle will include a free home wall connector.

EV adoption in India

Tesla hopes to address one of India’s most significant barriers to EV adoption by launching its charging network ahead of large-scale vehicle delivery. According to the corporation, its Supercharger network is known globally for its outstanding reliability, with over 99% uptime. According to industry experts, this initiative shows Tesla’s significant commitment to the Indian market and paves the way for a larger rollout of electric mobility infrastructure across the country.
