Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, the company’s first EV, is set to launch on December 2. It offers over 500km range, Level 2 ADAS, and a premium digital cockpit.
Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce the e-Vitara, an all-electric SUV, the first of its kind, thus paving the way into the electric mobility era. The official day of launch has been fixed for December 2, 2025, and it will be available in India after it was first displayed at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025. The unveiling of the vehicle is a clear signal of Maruti Suzuki’s long-awaited and anticipated entry into the Indian electric vehicle market, with the intention of not just participating but actually accelerating the entire process of shifting consumers to more environmentally friendly mobility.
Official Launch Date
Maruti Suzuki has announced the official date for the launch of the e-Vitara, their first electric car, as December 2, 2025. The compact electric SUV was first shown at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo and has been in anticipation ever since. Its market arrival will be a major turning point for the manufacturer, as it will directly compete in the fast-growing electric SUV segment in India.
Global EV Vision
The e-Vitara is the product that can be tagged “Built in India for the world”. Maruti has already started the production of this model at its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. Currently, the firm is exporting the vehicle to more than 12 European countries, including the UK, Germany, and France. This dual focus emphasises the company’s aspiration to make India not only a consumer market but also an important global production area for its electric vehicles.
Power and Range
The e-Vitara will be available in two different battery packs: a 49kWh and a 61kWh unit. The larger battery will probably take the e-Vitara for a ride of more than 500 km per charge, which is why it is being classified among the longest-range EVs of the same class. Besides, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) option might be offered for the 61kWh top-spec version as well, which would mean a powerful combination of 184hp and 300 Nm of torque through an extra motor at the back.
Premium Interior Tech
The e-Vitara, being luxurious and high-tech like Maruti Suzuki, will get a very fancy interior. The whole digital cockpit comprises a 10.25-inch driver’s display and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is floating centrally mounted on the console. The application of soft-touch materials in dual-tone, multi-colour ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and Harman-tuned audio makes the cabin even more inviting.
Advanced Safety Kit
The e-Vitara has been designed with safety as the foremost factor. The body comprises over 50% high-tensile steel and comes with an exclusive battery protection system. The standard safety package consists of seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, all-disc brakes, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Most importantly, the SUV is also fitted with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which provides features such as adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.
